Changing light

The light has begun to change.
The temperatures remain cold yet I can see spring's soft glow.
Even before the clover emerges I can tell spring is coming by the light.

The Cardinals are choosing mates.
Seed giving will begin any day.

The Doves have already begun pairing up.

A pair of Red Tailed Hawks hunted low in the trees.
this afternoon.

The male Red- Bellied Woodpecker
is bright in any light.

Dear Lisa,
The light today was soft.
The sky was clear and yet I did not the glare of winter's noon day sun. I stayed outside as long as I could today. The temps warmed to 40 degrees! Slowly we will get to the 60's.
Hope your sleet and snow did not cause any harm in your gardens.

Dear Monarch,
Light is everything!
I enjoyed the soft glow of the day.
Still the Juncos are in the gardens.
Spring migration has begun on the gulf. It will be a month before the Hummers and the Orioles return to me.
I will be ready!

Dear Mary,
The call to mate! Procreate and fill the world with song.
Oh, Mary hummers so soon!A very nice way to celebrate spring.I bet you will be already for them too. How exciting. Ours return around the middle of April.
Mockingbird has a mate. She is in the front yard most of the time. I am watching her out the office window right now.
Spring! Yours is in full swing. Mine is just beginning. She is lsow this year which is just fine with me. Hopefully she will linger all the way to June!

I agree, the light is changing here too. Soon we will be in our gardens in the evening :-) Just think, we will be able to sit out in the warm setting sun. Can't wait!

Dear Chris,
I too am looking forward to warm evenings. I hope to go walking with my husband at twilight and watch fireflies again.
The longer daylight makes a huge difference too. Still too cold and wet to do anything in the gardens.
Your parade of flowers has already begun. I am waiting for mine. I do not mind waiting.
I have my spring rejuvenation program started. I leave for my spa time on the 17th! I am excited about going.
Happy gardening and enjoying the light of spring.

Dear Cheryl,
I am watching a pair of Robins hunt for worms this morning. The ground is still frozen! I hope they find breakfast.
The light tells me Spring is about even though the temperature says, "Winter".
I am ready for some variation!
I love all my birds but am looking forward to the spring migration.
May your days begin to become warmer. Cathy is counting the days until Spring arrives for us. It is soon.
Love and light,
Sherry

Dear Jayne,
Your spring has sprung! I enjoyed seeing your male Blue Bird looking for a mate.
Such a happy bird!
All I have so far is the light and sounds of spring. Soon full spring will come and the joy of flowers and bees and butterflies will once again fill my soul. The morning chorus has begun. That sounds like spring!
