This IS heaven! I've been visiting your other blog and hadn't seen this one before. I love the bird photos from yesterday. I am so impressed by anyone who can take such wonderful shots of birds. They always fly away before I manage to snap the shutter.
Dear Lynne, Me too! If I was a butterfly I would want to be the female Tiger Swallowtail in her black dress. She is my favorite. Hope you can take some time now to be with the birds and butterflies. Sending bird songs to cheer you and butterfly wings to comfort you. Hugs, Sherry
Dear Cheryl, It was the bees and butterflies last year that got me through the terrible frosts that took so many of the plants. I was intent on making sure they had plenty of food. I set up butterfly feeding stations and sprayed green leaves with sugar water. I also picked up a dish garden in bloom for my friend, Mr. Bumbles. I was very excited too last year when the migrating birds came. I learned lots last year about myself and gardening. I learned about my role. I am enjoying the gardens and the birds and the bugs. Walking in Paradise, Sherry
Dear Rose, Lately I have been just sitting with the birds. My camera is near by but all I want to do is just watch. I know I will miss the Rose-breasted Grosbeaks when they leave. I am a butterfly lady. I am changing my gardens to be a butterfly sanctuary. As I do this I will be growing less people food and more butterfly food! I already do lots for the birds! They have their food and water and some nesting areas. I think I can do butterfly and bird gardening at the same time! It is wonderful to be able to restore a tiny bit of habitat. The earth once was Paradise. Sherry
Dear Deb, Thank you! I hope they feel safe here. I am just a little city lot. I do put out lots and lots of food and water for the birds. I am trying to plant enough host and nectar plants for the butterflies. It takes lots of flowers. I love seeing the birds and the bees and the butterflies. Sherry
Dear Cathy, In Paradise we can just think a book and it is on our table! I like Paradise, I may just move in! Thanks! I am behind on Almanac! I will catch up soon. Sherry
Hi Sherry....you are so kind to all the little creatures. I so understand your way. I have missed so many photographs, I was so entranced with the image before me, that taking a picture was far from my mind. It is so lovely you now take care of the bees as well. On opposite sides of the pond we have our bird, bee, and butterfly parsdise.
Beautiful! And at the risk of sounding silly, I saw a dandelion in my yard today! Bright yellow! The snow is gone (although we may have a touch more before the weekend). Also have a mallard and hen that are quite insistent about hanging around in the pool. Enjoyed your post, as usual, Sherry!
Dear Cheryl, Knowing you are caring for the bees and the bugs and the birds is reassuring! We are kindred spirits. I do believe there are many of us that love Mother Nature and do not want to foul our nest. We need to keep encouraging each other. Sometimes I feel lonely. Sometimes I get so upset. We need all the creatures...all the plants. All have a place in Mother Nature's plan. I often have the camera on my lap and have drifted off into the bird songs.. It is very wonderful getting to know you. Thank you for being my friend. Sherry, who dances with the bees
Dear Shelia, Yes, they are! One look at the butterflies and anyone could see why we need to take care of the blooming plnats and not use chemicals! Sherry, who is on a mission
Dear Sue, Oh yes!!! I am happy to know your dandelions are blooming. I think they are charming. Bees love them too. I love the look of a lawn covered in blooming wild violets and hen-bit with the bright rays of dandelions beckoning. Happy spring! Finally... Sherry
Dear Tom, Thanks! I am rather wild for the bugs! I think our temps have warmed up enough that I can sow some seeds so they have food this summer! Sherry
Dear Barbara, I am so happy the butterflies have awakened in your gardens too. It has warmed up a bit and you maybe you have some sun? Your April was very wet. Hope you have many sunny May days. The butterflies make my heart just sing! Sherry

I think the birds, bees and butterflies feel they are in Paradise in your beautiful garden Sherry. You have made it a safe haven.
So does heaven have bookstores? ;)

Dear Mari-Nanci,
When I saw her in the Dogwood I almost cried!
Thank goodness I had the long lens on the camera. She was high up.
