I am always amazed at how close you get for your pictures. They sure are beautiful.
Wonderful photographs Sherry. The birds are beautiful, you are so kind to them. They go where they know they are safe. I am sure you will have many more come to visit.

What beautiful pictures!
I will be visiting again
Jeannie
Dear Lisa,
I use a long lens!~
Sometimes the birds will forget I am about and I can zoom in close. I like the close up photos for Corner. I think you can really see the bird or the bug that way.
Sometimes I will pull back a bit so I can get "in flight".
Nature is beautiful!
Sherry
Dear Cheryl,
I think these darlings like oranges and jelly! I want to spend some more time with the Grosbeaks!
They are very beautiful too.
As are all the birds...
Sherry
Dear Cathy,
Oh good! I am so happy you have a hummer. Blue Birds too??? They are very pretty. I will pop over and see if you were able to post a hummingbird picture. Mine have come too I just have not taken pictures yet.
So nice to know Spring is in full swing at your house.
I am hoping to be able to do more walking. I also have some flower beds to clean and some seeds to sow.
My husband was wondering if I was going to catch up on Almanac! I will...waiting for a rainy day.
Sherry
Dear Mary,
I am so proud of you....
Just because the range maps say Baltimore Orioles do not come to N.C. does not mean they cannot. I bet if one is any where, remotely, near he will come for Jelly!
You will enjoy all the birds that come to the grape jelly.
Let me know!
Sherry
Dear Becky,
Happy May!
So glad you enjoyed this essay.
Mother Nature inspires me. Sometimes it is difficult to get my laundry finished. I just want to be outside where all the action is!
Sherry
Dear Jeannie,
Nice to meet you.
Hope to visit you too.
Bird songs and butterfly wings,
Sherry
Sherry, lovely photos as always! You have inspired me - my backyard is now filling up with feeders. A question - do you put the jelly as it is into bowls, or do you dilute it? Or do you have one of those jelly feeders you can buy? I'd love to attract the orioles to my yard.
Karen
I envy you for the beautiful and colourful birds you have! Wonderful snapshots!
Dear Karen,
A garden filled with feeders is a lovely sight!
I put the grape jelly straight out of the jar into jelly feeders. I bought my first one from wild Bird. It is a copper hanging basket sort of thing that two glass bowls sit in. It is easy to fill and clean. I also have a small brass umbrella that hangs over a limb I fill with jelly.
I have two Oriole feeders. I fill these with nectar water and a sliced orange. Once the Orioles arrive I begin the jelly. I think if you do the orange Baltimore Oriole feeder the Orioles will find you. The jelly will keep them around for a couple of months...they really like the jelly.
Looking forward to seeing Orioles in your backyard.
Sherry
Dear Barbara,
I do love the birds and the butterflies.
The birds keep me going when it is too cold for butterflies!
Sherry
Sherry, unfortunately I have learned that Baltimore Orioles are rare in our area. Still, I have 4 feeders out now, thanks to your inspiration, and I'm really enjoying the birds.
Karen
