Cloudy day

Even when it is cloudy the butterflies come to feed.
The monarchs have been visiting the gardens.
I keep watching for when they find the milkweed.

The little Skippers are so cute.

The bees and wasps also come to feed when it is cloudy.

The Black Swallowtail laid more eggs in the parsley this morning.

Big storm last night, with some areas receiving 5 inches of rain!
My gardens were watered nicely with only 1.2 inches.
The clouds are a blessing today.

stumbled upon your blog and I must say, your photos are amazing! I am a bit of a butterfly geek... I work at a butterfly farm and breed local butterflies, so your page really caught my attention. All the gardening you talk about is fantastic. I put you in my faves! ;o)

Everything looks so beautiful....the monarch is a beautiful butterfly. I am sad to say we have very few butterflies so far this year. Last year was a very wet summer and it was predicted that this would happen. I must say I really miss them....so to see them here is a real treat.....

It's great to see the butterflies using your garden as a home! The cloudy days in the summer are kind of nice for the insects and us people without A/C.

Dear Mimi,
So happy you found me! Wonderful to meet another butterfly lover.
I shall come over to your journal and get to know you.
I do not get around as often as I would like to in the Summertime, the bugs and the birds and the blooms keep me busy!
Hope to see you again soon.
Glad you enjoy the pictures.
I enjoy taking them.
Sherry

Dear Cheryl,
I enjoy cloudy days! The break from the sun is nice. Also with so much moisture the humidity gets so high that I cannot stay outside very long.
I am so sorry about low butterfly count for you. I too would miss them! I may even become very sick if I did not have butterflies. The birds and the butterflies and the bees are just good medicine for me!
Hopefully I will have even more variety when the Bee Balm blooms!
Butterflies for you!
Sherry

Dear chris,
The butterflies just have their way with me...if it is good for the butterflies than it is good for me!
Cloudy days are delightful in the summer. I like the break and the bugs still come to visit.
Stay cool,
Sherry
