Female Eastern Tiger Swallowtail

I spent the morning in the gardens.
It was foggy and cool.

A female Eastern Tiger Swallowtail,
in her black dress,
graced me with her beauty.

She is my favorite butterfly.

Her mate came in.
A beautiful pair.

I watched them dance.
Goodbye July!

The fact that their wings were so perfectly intact means they were quite young yet. Lucky you! what a way to end the month!

Dear Cheryl,
I was so taken with the beauty of these two butterflies that I wept with joy! To be a witness to this exquisite beauty filled my heart with gratitude.
To be able to photograph them was a gift I had asked the "powers that be" to bestow on me. I have been watching butterflies for many years. I have watched the butterflies dance many times. Today I actually was able to get a picture. I am very pleased.

Dear Mimi,
Both the male and the female were in perfect condition. I think they were very young.
Very beautiful. I want to go back outside and be with them some more!!

Dear Meggie,
Okay!!! I will keep on taking pictures of the darlings in the backyard. I often wonder if people are wanting a little something different. I enjoy the birds and the bugs so much and I hope they are always delightful to to my friends. Thank you for your voice of encouragement!
I am looking forward to cooler temperatures. Autumn is a glorious time with the birds and the butterflies and the leaves.
