Looks delicious! I have just a few small green ones so far; amazing that you have a ripe one already. I was thinking a few weeks ago with the tomato recall that I was glad I got carried away with planting tomatoes this year-- we won't have to worry about food poisoning with these!
What a delicious looking tomato :-}Home grown is best! I am sure that is why Kate is a vegetarian - raised on homegrown fruit and veg, she loves it all! :-}

Dear Chris, I was concerned that all our rains would give us blosom rot but so far the fruits look fine. My husband and I bet on when we would pick our first. I won. I bet July 1st! Sherry
Dear Sue, Glad you are doing better. I did not do as much as normal since I too was sick. My husband did most of the work! I am glad he did too. Having the fresh garden produce is so delicious. I would miss it. Hope you can get to a Farmer's Market and get some home grown tomatoes. Sherry

Your first tomato looks grand, and you are right, eating them right out of the garden is best.
Due to a variety of circumstances, we got in a very late and abbreviated garden this year. It will be a long while before we enjoy our first tomato. :-((( I just hope that it doesn't get so hot that the blooms will not set on fruit.
Dear Marvin, We also were late with our planting this year. No peas or beans. Getting the tomatoes and the zucchini in was top priority come May 1st. I do see the pepper plants are blooming and the eggplants at least are growing. It could be we also will get too hot for fruit. Hope you get some vine ripe for your table. Sherry

That's great...I don't know how well our tomato plants will do this year. As Cathy said, at least home grow you know the processing it went though.
