The Blue Jay waits for me each morning.
He waits with the Wrens and the Cardinals.
They get along just fine.
This morning, while I was taking pictures with my new macro lens,He waits with the Wrens and the Cardinals.
They get along just fine.
he came to see what I was doing.
I turned when I heard him speak.
He was less than 6 inches from my camera.
He is amazing.
I am studying shadows.
I am studying polka dots and moonbeams.

Beautiful Blue Jay.
Your macro shots make him look so big- I'd like to run my fingers along his feathers and hold him to my cheek. I'll have to let my eyes
feed my immagination.
Wow! He's impressive - his feathers look like fur. I just watched a magpie scurry out of the junipers and take to the sky with a shout of joy (or something).
So, he's a Blue Jay! I feel so dumb not knowing that. ;) We have Stellar's Jays here, and also back home, so your guy looked very unusuall to me. He is absolutely gorgeous! I'm sure he would love some peanuts.
Amazing that you can get so close to this Jay Sherry. I love the polka dots on him.
Dear Sherry.......He is so beautiful.....your macro lens has shown us the incredible detail on his feathers....I can see that we are going to have some beautiful shots this winter.....
He will become a frequent visitor I am sure.....
Oh he's absolutely beautiful! We normally don't have blue jays in our yard at this house as we don't have mature trees here. But the past few days I've been hearing them in the yard! Maybe they're considering moving into the neighborhood!
fantastic that you got to be that close to mr. blue.
great photos!
i am glad i got to see them.
i love your new lens it is capturing the best details.
Wow, he is stunning! What wonderful photos.
Wow. You are so blessed.
What a handsome jay! I love your new macro lense.
He is really beautiful! How wonderful that he waits for you each day :-) What a start to each day!
Wow this story is incredible...although I can understand that the bird also likes you. By the way, you made wonderfull photos of your new model
What a great friend to have! The texture of the feathers is very interesting. I hope he stays a while...
What great shots of the Blue Jay! You almost make me want to get out the big Canon and learn the use it.
Jules
Whoa!! Excellent photos. I'm surprise how close he was to you.

Dear Lynne,
Me too. I think he would let me. He has no fear of me at all!
Sherry
Dear Sue,
Some birders do not care for the Blue Jays but I think they are fantastic. I also like the Magpies.
When I lived in Colorado I saw the Magpies in the park where I walked. I enjoy watching the birds. They are amazing creatures. I wish I had wings.
Sherry
Dear Vikki,
Never dumb...no reason why you would know. I saw Scrub Jays in Oregon when I visited my daughter.
I think the Jays are very beautiful birds.
I bet he would love some peanuts. I am waiting until this winter. There are lots of acorns on the ground for now.
I think he may be too tame!
Sherry
Dear Lisa,
LOL, the shadows were so pretty on his feathers. He is a very friendly bird.
I like him.
Sherry
Dear Cheryl,
I hope the macro will make it possible to take pictures of tiny bugs.
I am learning.
Thank you for your encouragement.
Sherry
Dear Terry,
I bet so!
I like the Jays. They add another element in the backyard bird story.
This Jay seems to get along rather well with all the song birds even Mockingbird!
Hope you get to see some Blue Jays soon.
Sherry
Dear Marmee.
I have a plan, I will work with the macro lens every day until I am comfortable!
Nice to know Blue Jay looks great up close. I do not think I would.
Sherry
Dear Meggie,
Thank you. This was a case of serendipity. I just happened to be working with the macro lens when Mr. Blue flew in!
Sherry
Dear Mary,
I will be thinking of you while your feeders are down. Soon you will be able to feed again. The House Sparrows can ruin everything.
Darn it donut! I am sad for all your sweet birds.
Hugs,
Sherry
Dear Icqb,
Thank you. I think I also love it!
Sherry
Dear Chris,
There are a group of birds that wait for me to come out each morning. They like their treats.
A few are singing again. I love top hear the birds singing in the early morning.
Hugs,
Sherry
Dear Belen,
Having the birds about makes for a lovely morning. This winter it will be the birds that keep me company. I will miss the bees and the butterflies.
Thank you.
Maybe this winter I can do bird portraits. That would be fun.
Sherry
Dear Chris,
I almost always have a few Jays about. This one is just extra friendly. He doesn't fly off when I approach the deck or the feeding station.
I also hope he stays.
Sherry
Dear Jules,
I really enjoy photography. I have lots to learn too.
The macro is a great lens. It is heavy but I am doing okay with it.
Always good to learn something new.
Sherry
Dear Cathy,
I wonder if I will ever get the infer-red lens? You have done some very interesting work with yours.
Jay was close!
Sherry
Sherry. I'm hoping to take out the infrafed lens out again. I got the raw hack to work on my camera. I should get better picture with that. Just hope for good weather this week.
