Beautiful color and the glass in the pond looks like Chihuly glass. Chihuly is always an inspiration to me. Of course those little jewels on the flower are always an inspiration too.
Dear Cheryl, The water lilies were fantastic...in the sun they were so bright! I do not know if the violet Dragonfly is a Pond Hawk just so deeply colored from the sun that she looks violet or if this is a different speicies... I am slowly learning my Dragonflies. I looked up Kew Gardens...wonderful looking place. The giant lilies are fantastic. I think they must be hardy here I cannot imagine the gardens trying to over winter them! Seeing the reflecting pools gave me some ideas for my little garden ponds. Plus I would like to add more water features to my gardens. I do need inspiration...I am feeling flat! Sherry
Dear Lisa, The "Japanese Fishing Floats" are Chihuly Glass! Great eye! There are a few installations of his work in the gardens. I was awed each time I came to one. There are other sculptures too. I would love to do more art in my backyard. I finished processing my photos! I just might do a gardens scrapbook. I have some nice pictures from Victoria, Canada too. When I need inspiration getting out past outings helps. Thank you! Sharing here is always fun for me. Sherry
Dear Mari-Nanci, Thank you. There were many reflecting pools. I liked this one with the Chihuly glass art floating. This is a marvelous Botanical Garden. Sherry
Dear Flydragon, Maybe you could do a simple water feature. I have a few bird baths and small puddlers for the birds and critters. These pools are huge...public grounds...lovely too. Sherry
Dear Cathy, I was so pleased when I saw the Floats. I did not know Chihuly had any installations in the Missouri Botanical Garden. I was reading later that these gardens are rated in the top 5 in the world! They are incredible. I would love to go again in October and see the changes and again in January oh and April would be nice for spring blooms! I also did a search to see where else Chihuly works can be found. I have this idea to "do" art this winter... Maybe seeing fantastic work could keep me inspired. Sherry
Dear Wendy, Thanks! I love nature. When man and nature work together, in the spirit of cooperation, fantastic results are accomplished. Namaste, Sherry
Deart Nina, I so agree! At home I am trying to come up with how I will blend the wild and the cultivated. My little ponds could never support such huge floats but decorating the ponds sounds fun! I do have dragonflies about maybe a Dragonfly sculpture would work. I may need to do some shopping and some creating. Sherry
Dear Marmee, These gardens are very beautiful...crowded when I was there. The Japanese festival is a large, fantastic event. I would love to go during the week when the crowds would be less. Sherry
What a lovely idea to let this colored big glass bubbles swim on the pond. This big leaves of the waterlily are stunning. I saw them "real" in Kew Gardens in London.

These reflecting pools were very large. The glass "Japanese fishing floats" were excellent.
