Sunday Safari

I hunted all summer to see a Walkingstick.

Caterpillars are about.

Spiders are weaving webs all over the garden.

I am hanging up my safari hat for this year.
It has been very fun hunting for bugs this summer.

October is coming.
My Sundays will be filled with October activities.
It is almost pumpkin time.

Dear Cheryl,
My heart is heavy with you.
I understand the pain.
I held all of my pets when they died. Miss Kitty was my first and my last pet. In the seventeen years she lived with me I had many cats, dogs, fish, gerbels, birds, rabbits and a snake! Lots of pets.
I loved them all.
I will be thinking of you and your old little friend. When she is ready she will pass. It is always sad. I will cry with you. Until that time enjoy her little ways. MAy she be out of pain.
Blessings,
Sherry

Oh a walking stick! I haven't seen (or thought of one) for many many years! Thanks for posting it.
Your spider looks plump and juicy - no not enough to eat. LOL.
Good-by to sunday safari - for this year....a nice tribute.
We'll miss you.

Great photos to end the Safari season Sherry. I haven't seen a walking stick in my garden before. I would love to see one sometime. I think they are rare here. At least I never see them. What a pretty spider too. I haven't seen one like this here.

Dear Marmee,
I have had so much fun on Sundays this summer, hunting for bugs ! Cheryl joined in as did Chris. Knowing others were out hunting for bugs made it even more fun.
We will have fun on Sundays doing other things...bet there will still be bugs involved.

Dear Wendy,
I was so excited when I saw the walkingstick! I have been looking for one all summer. I also had not seen one for years.
Glad to know they are about.
It has been fun to go bug hunting on Sundays this summer.
I will do this again next year.

Dear Lisa,
Thanks. I had posted the Walkingstick on Walking in Beauty on Friday. I was so excited to see one.
I have lots of spiders now. I think they are getting ready to lay eggs.
It has been a good year to safari!
Thank you for coming along each week.

Dear Grammy,
I will be right here...I will still post words and pictures.
Sorry about the confusion. This past summer on Sunday I posted about the bugs in the backyard. I called it "Sunday safari."
Now that the weather is changing I will have something else to post about on Sundays.
Thank you for coming and leaving comments and enjoying the photo essays.

The spider photo is amazing, Sherry! And congratulations on finding a walking stick. I've seen so many praying mantises this year, but not one walking stick. It is that time of year when the insects are leaving, but I was surprised to see one bumblebee still flying about the garden this weekend. I'll look forward to your Sunday safaris next spring.

Dear Rose,
Thank you. My gardens are becoming decorated for October. Mother Nature has all sorts of lovely spiders doing the finishing touch.
She is good....
I was so thrilled to see a Walkingstick. Just made my day.
The bees are still about as are a few butterflies. We still have not had our first frost. Ususally that happens around the middle of October.
Safari Sundays have been fun. I will do them again next year.
Thank you for hunting along with me.

Those sunglasses would look cute on a jack o'latern with a goofy grin on it's face.

These have been fun, but I am looking forward to what October will bring.

Dear Wren,
October promises to be lots of fun. There are pumpkins to get and leaves to play in. I might even get out to see some birds migrating.
Thanks for Sunday bug hunting with me.
