December Br...

December came in cold.

The north wind sent chills into my bones.
Even bundled up in my blanket I could not stay outside for very long.

I celebrate the Northern Cardinal in December.

When it is cold and snowy many Cardinals come to the feeders.

They are polite and take their turns.

I am inside decorating.
The Northern Cardinal is one of my December motifs.

Happy December!

Dear Sherry

Beautiful cardinals.....I am slowly falling in love with them.....for me it is their faces.....they are so soft......
It sounds so cold.....what temperature are you showing?

It is wet and cold here....it is the damp that gets to me......and we have a north wind today.....I have tried to dig some more holes for my trees....it was hopeless, and we have four more days of rain expected. I collect them on Friday.....

Brrrrrr indeed Sherry. It was blowing like crazy here today too. We had flurries. Nothing stuck of course. I just love Cardinals. You get such great pictures of them. I should do one for christmas.

I love the cardinals too. Especially their bright colour against the while snow. Even the female, who is not so bright - she looks soft and sweet.
We had a damp, rainy morning, but then the sun came out and it felt like spring!!

I also love cardinals. I have a theme tree decorated here in my office with red cardinals and berries. It is so festive!

As usual, your photos inspire.

What wonderful vivid shots. I love cardinals. I have not see as many here in mid Mo. As I did in St. Louis. But we have mere blue Jays here. And the colored finch. I love them. Have a great day.

Happy December to you, too! I just discovered your blog and I am SO impressed with your photos! I would like to link it on my blog! Thanks!

Dear Lavender Dreamer,
Welcome to Corner. Lavender is one of my healing herbs. I grow a small hedge. Just yesterday I finished the processing of last season's harvest. I drink lavender and rosemary tea and love lavender in my bath and on my pillow.
I see you also are a crafter. I make all sorts of things. I like to recycle and reuse as much as possible and make what I need. I try and post on Tuesdays on my Artful Living blog.
Looking forward to visiting your journal and getting to know you.
Happy decorating!
Namaste,
Sherry

Dear Cheryl,
Our lows right now are about -3C and our highs are ranging in the 0-5C. Tonight it is to be -7C. Cold!
I am waiting for a snow storm to start. It is cold this morning and the north wind is howling...
I understand when the cold gets into your bones. It is the damp cold that is the worst! Always hard for me to warm back up too.
Hope you are able to get everything ready for your trees. It is so exciting! Big job but worth the work.
Hot tea and cakes and lots of Poppi kisses will warm you.
Hugs,
Sherry

Dear Marnie,
I depend on the birds in the winter. I love to see them coming and going. I miss the butterflies....

Dear Lisa,
The Cardinals are very pretty. A Christmas Cardinal for your kitchen would be lovely.
The north wind is blowing this morning and snow is coming in. The weatherman says it is to start at 9am. I am waiting...

Dear Wendy,
Yesterday it warmed to 50 F degrees! I did some errands (I needed to get my Christmas plants) and was able to get my window boxes ready for winter. The mums were over!!
I always need a few warmish days in December to get my outside decorations up.
Hope you are enjoying decorating.

Dear Cathy,
I have a nice flock of Cardinals!
Will let them know you have room at the feeders for any of their friends looking for lunch.
Stay warm,
Sherry

Dear Saucy,
My master bath is done up with Cardinals. I am always looking for them too.
Thank you.
I found a pair of old earings and thought of you. They are champagne glasses. Maybe a wee bit small for your tree. Still you could wear them while shopping for ornament replacements! I will send them up!
Hugs,
Sherry

Dear Mimi,
I told them all about you! They tweeted right back.
Please say "hi" to the butterflies for me. I miss them so very much...

Dear Grammy,
The Blue Jays are pretty birds too. I also have a small flock of Purple Finches that come to the feeders. They are pretty too. I like all the birds...

They look so sweet! It's amazing how expressive a bird's face can be.

Our morning temperature was 1.4%. This morning, the thermometer shows 17%. I think that still seems cold!

Dear Vikki,
My goodness it is cold! We warmed up to 26 degrees this afternoon.
The birds are very expressive...I sure love them.
Stay warm and cozy,

Sherry,

We are having record cold now. I think December will be seasonal as I know it.

A snowfall would be nice...

Your Cardinals are very photogenic.

Dear Mary,
It is 17 degrees this morning! Brrrr.... Cold for us for the first part of December. I saw it is to be 55 on Sunday! Missouri is very well know for having ups and downs. Keeps me in layers all winter.
When I peeked out onto the deck at dawn there were a dozen Cardinals. I think the flock has grown. They are photogenic especially in the snow. I do hope you get at least one nice snowfall this winter.
