Hi Sherry......I am not surprised you have bonded so quickly.....camera's and you go together...... Beautiful photographs......can't put my finger on it yet but I can see something different....it hasn't jumped out at me yet but it will.... Beautiful......
Your pictures were already incredible Sherry. I can't imagine how they can be any better, then I looked at that Jay. Incredible. Have fun with your new camera. I am thrilled I can enjoy the results with you.
Dear Mimi, I love this new camera! So easy to use. She is a photgrapher's camera. I still love my D50 too. No camera??? I would not do very well with out my camera sort of like not having an arm...need camera... I bonded in about thirty seconds! Sherry
Dear Cheryl, At first I was intimidated. It is a somewhat "fancy" camera. You might not be able to see much difference here on Corner, but my work is easier. I can change the iso very quickly now, this means that it will be easier to take photographs in low light with out using a flash. It also means when I am shooting into a bright light I can lower the iso..slower and faster "film speeds". I still will use my filters and sunshades as needed. Normally I only post when the photographs are "nice". My new camera has a very fast shutter. Great for the quick little birds. I do not always get the photograph because my camera was too slow... not any more. I am very excited... Sherry
Dear Lisa, Thank you! This camera opens new doors for me. I can do poster sized prints now. Camera also has some "play" features. It will do some video. I am months away from that! I will need to learn how to do my "stop action" next. It is birds in flight time again. Sherry
Enjoy! I'm a canon girl myself, but I can appreciate the joy of a new toy of any kind. Of course, we'll expect to see lots of great photos in the days and weeks to come.
Dear Wendy, You are so kind. My son says, "The biggest room in the house is the room for improvement." As a photographer I have lots of room for improvement. Thank you for your support and kind words. My cold is about the same. I do okay in the morning but by mid afternnon I am rather tired. Right now I am drinking grapefruit juice and having ginger snaps. That should knock this cold! Sherry
Dear Wren, The Cannons are nice cameras too. This is my third Nikon and I am very pleased. The D50 has been back to the shop twice...all my fault...the service has been wonderful. The shutters are good for about 20,000 pictures. I think that is industry standard. I bought Nikon for the optics. I hope to take lots of photgraphs. Sherry
Congrats on the new camera, I'm thinking I need to upgrade from my point and shoot to get the nature photos. I just like the handiness of having a camera in my purse or pocket. Wish we knew more about birds, we're struggling with the new ones we see here in LA. Maybe we'll see the Pine siskin when it makes it south. Your photos do look brighter. Enjoy the Holidays!
Dear Cathy, It was pricey! We were lucky and had a special offer. This is our Christmas gift to each other... Now that my photogrphs have been picked up by "The Bird Sings" I needed a few more pixels and a faster shutter! I need to clean my scanner. It is a mess! Sherry
Dear Jules and Ken, I am hoping the D300 will work out better for nature shots when my husband and I go birding away from the backyard. Next on my list is a good scope! I know the one I want. Maybe I will sell enough cards in 2009 to get it! You just might see the Pine Siskins. They are so darling. Happy Holidays to you too. I will be outside. Sherry
wonderful clarity with your new lenses and camera. the colours seem brighter. i already loved them now i love them even more. congrats on a great new toy, have fun getting to play and figure it all out.
Dear Marmee, Thank you. Slowly I will get the technical aspect learned. As long as Mother Nature supplies the beautiful birds and bugs I will continue to take their portraits. Now I should be able to do it faster and easier! Sherry
Oh, I nearly swooned from you bird shots. That is something that my camera will not do well. Yours are breathtaking. Bonded is a great term for what you have been able to achieve so quickly with a new camera. Kudos!
My poor son "lost" his camera when I started blogging :-)It's a Nikon D50 and I love it! Have fun with your new camera Sherry. A shutter twice as fast sounds amazing!
Dear Frances, Thank you. I do love the birds. Being able to photograph them has been a dream come true for me. Now that my photographs have been picked up by a card line I think I need a professional camera. Lots to learn! Namaste, Sherry
Dear Marnie, These photographs were taken with an 200x-500x telephoto lens. Most of my bird photographs are taken with that lens. When I walk I now am using a 18x-200x lens. Today I thought I would be fancy and take macro shots when I walked. I saw deer and a Brown Creeper and a flock of Robins! I could not get very good photographs of any of them! Did see some nice berries! I am loving the new camera. Sherry
Dear Deb, My first love was and still is the D50. I bonded and am still very comfortable with her. I take her walking and in the car with me. New sweetheart is because I need to be able to do some different sort of things for "work"! I love saying that... Sherry
Dear Grammy, Having the quick shutter release is very nice for birds and bugs! I really enjoy being able to take the photographs. I have lots to learn. Sherry
Dear Robin, I am taking it slow. Learning one bell at a time. I bet you will enjoy your new camera. I sure enjoy photgraphy. So much to learn. Right now I am working with iso...so much easier with the digitals than in the old days when you had to have three or four cameras with different films in them. Sherry
Hi Sherry. Congrats on your D300. I'm a bit envious. I currently use a Nikon D50, and am glad to know of another D50 user out there. I really enjoy your bird photos. I also enjoy your movies. I've been thinking about posting one on my blog, and you've given me the inspiration I need. I look forward to more bird photos. Happy Holidays to you and yours!
Dear Heather, Nice to meet you! I shall pop over to your journal. The birds and bugs and D50 blend nicely together. The D300 is a fancy lady...it will take me awhile to learn all about her. SO far I love her dearly....but when in doubt I use the D50. D50 is my walking camera. Looking forward to getting to know you. Namaste, Sherry

I'm so jealous... I haven't posted any of my own pictures in a while. No camera. The photos seem brighter! You really have bonded with it quickly.
