Fiber Glow

I sat with the birds this afternoon after my walk.

I told Tonya, the Tufted Titmouse,
all about the Weavers Guild meeting I went to.

Teakettle, the Carolina Wren came to listen.

I reassured all the birds I would still spend time with them.
I just want to be with people sometimes.
People who love fiber.

The Weavers are wonderful people.
They were kind to me.
They welcomed me into their group, with open arms.
There was roving to buy after the meeting.
Real roving, soft, lovely llama fiber.
I met the lady who raises the llamas and sheers her llamas.

I am joining the Weavers Guild.
I am joining the Fiber Guild.

One member offered to teach me how to knit.
Another invited me to her home for a gathering.
Another took me in under her wing.
I fit right in.
I belong.

That's a beautiful post. It's nice that you have an outlet where you fit in and are accepted fully and perfectly. Great photos too.

Dear Lisa,
Oh my goodness Lisa!! I had such a great time. It was amazing...these artists are inspiring...I almost called you just to say YEAH!
Their work is so beautiful and they LOVE fiber...that is what is incredible. I was so happy I almost cried. I fit in!!!
I bet some even love birds and blooms.
Fiber is good,
Sherry
I will share as I learn. You know I really need a studio...where I can spin and weave and felt and create.

So sweetly written, Lisa. Are there any more lovely words than "I belong?"

I love that basket of fiber. I wish I lived nearby so I could attend too. Good for you.~~Dee

Dear Natural Moments,
I was so excited...my photography is one creative outlet and my fiber art is another. Before today I did not know other fiber artists....I am so pleased to meet these good folks.

Dear Cheryl,
It was wonderful! Meeting other artists and talking about felting and rove and weaveing is a dream come true. I am touched that these people were so kind too. I felt as if I had know them all my life. I fit in so perfectly.
Always the birds and the bugs. I will be involved with my gardens too, come spring. All of these interests will dove tail together.
I will share. Dyers garden and English children's garden are being planned right now!
Plus, I want to see about finding other people who love the herbs...I bet the Herb Society meets someplace close by.
Fiber and paper and sewing and studios....hats and bags and jackets...life is full of fun and good cheer. There are workshops and classes.
Oh Cheryl, I am so happy I am here on planet Earth. I am so glad I did not give up!
Thank you.
Hugs!!
Sherry, who is surrounded by "fiber glow"

Hi Q--
I think it's nice that 'you are here on planet earth', too!
I am in awe of those bird photos!
I am in the middle of getting some ready to post, also.
I have the same birdies;) I guess it doesn't matter if I post them too...it's with a different camera, and mine are residents of a different state:)
Your photos are very nice!
Jan

...oops, sorry--I meant to call you Sherry!

Dear Dee,
I am trying to settle down...I feel like a youngster who just came in from her first dance class! My feet still want to twirl about!
I have been a silly misfit all my life...except here...here with all of you I fit. But in my in person life I do not fit very well. I tried garden clubs and yoga classes. So-so fit... I did do lots of adjusting...here I just fit in...just like I had been there with them last year and the year before. I was comfortable right away. They were comfortable with me too.
I wish you were near by. We could fit in together...
Maybe there is a Fiber Guild near by for you. I think they are nation wide...my group talked about some show that all sorts of fiber groups do displays. I will learn more I am sure. I do know there are workshops and classes. Not real sure where these are.

How cool, Sherry! Whatever we are into, it's nice to find others that we can share our loves with. Especially with your fibers and the things you make with them, as you can learn a lot from each other.

I love your conversations with your bird friends, too.

Dear Jan,
I shall pop over and see your birds...entirely different for sure. Mine are Missouri, Carolina Wrens!
Here I am Q or Sherry...always friend.
I am happy tonight... content.

Dear Wendy,
Thanks...I am grateful I met these nice people. My girlfriend found this group and told me about them. She knows how much I needed to have one on one with fiber folk.
Fiber is soooo good,
Sherry

Dear Sue,
It is a joy indeed to meet others that share the magic of felting and the glow of fiber. I would love to learn to weave and spin. These are artists that are willing to mentor.
I bought Sheep's wool today...
just the roving, unspun...
I told the birds all about it too. I think they were hoping for meal worms.

Dear Dawn,
I am new to fiber, just was bitten by the fiber bug last autumn. It may take awhile for me to be any where near where these ladies are. Their work is just fantastic.
I feel honored they were so nice.
I will share as I learn.
Sherry, who still has her fiber glow

Dear Deb,
These are very nice ladies. I am meeting with some of them on Tuesday. I did volunteer to help with the hostessing job. It is pretty simple. Looks to be a good way to get to know people.
I am very pleased.

Dear Scienceguy 288,
I didn't even have to comb her tuft! I have noticed that when I go out onto the deck the Tufted Titmice come to the feeders. They must like me being outside so the squirrels stay out of the feeders.

Dear Vikki,
You are still in the lower 48! Nice break for you. I bet you really do not want to go home...it is so cold...Keep your parka zipped up.
I will send you warmth...
Happy New Year!
So glad you were able to stay so long with your daughter.
Did you see all sorts of birds?
Sherry
