Inauguration Day

A few snow flurries greeted me when I went
to feed the birds this morning.
I did not linger outdoors.
Today is Inauguration Day.

It has been many years since
I last turned on the television set in the daytime.
I normally listen to the radio as I do my chores.

I do not think I have ever had popcorn for breakfast.
Today is special.

I watched and remembered past Inauguration Days.

There is work to be done.

There are wounds that need healing.

There is a sweetness to today as we choose
"hope over fear."

May we learn to share, to work together.

May we learn to live in harmony with each other
and nature.

It is a new beginning day.

There is work to do.

I took the pledge to be non-violent.

Perhaps you will join me.

Namaste, I honour the light in you.

Beautiful post; I'm full of hope as well. There is just a lot to be done. I think he will age very much in the next four years.

I'm in his corner; I'm sure he's in ours.

Nice post. Your sincerity is evident. The parade is going as I write this. I'm not sure if it's live or taped for us Pacific time people.

Katie Couric reported a few minutes ago that of the two million people in attendance on the mall, there wasn't one arrest!! Isn't that amazing?

I'm glad you took the pledge.
I thought you would...xx

Yes Sherry. Hope instead of fear. I hope and pray that the 44th President of our United States is able to drive his powerful positive force through the stagnant political arena and get our suffering country going in the right direction.

Dear Shelia,
Thank you for sending "I took the vow." I do not kill...I do catch and release the bugs that get into the house...
Deepac Chopra is one of my favorite spiritual leaders.
Thank you for thinking of me. This is something I totally agree with...non-violence in my thoughts and in my actions and in my world...We all have a dream.

Thank you for thaking the pledge too..
We need to grow beyond blame...we have real work to do, not finger pointing. What difference does it make who did what?

Dear Lisa,
Me too. Me too. I think it might be expensive....
I just hope the birds and the bugs and the critters that crawl all come through this climate change okay. It is Mother Earth I worry about.

It WAS a good day to watch television! It was a day for everyone to feel proud and to feel more hopeful about our future. Your beautiful birds look hopeful, too, Sherry, and so well-fed. You are doing your part to make this world a better place.

Dear Mary,
Your snow day was well timed!
I have hope that the reputation of the USA will be restored. We are inventive and caring people. I have been reading about the electric cars in California...they run on solar power. I want one!
Namaste,
Sherry

Dear Rose,
Thank you. I was able to spend some time with the birds. I also sprayed the Jack-o-lantern and a few gourds. I love the idea of preserving the Jack-o-lantern. I will try to do so again this coming Halloween.
Not wasting is one way of doing my part...re-use, re-cycle, re-store, and being responsible are a few other ways!
