Making friends

I attended a luncheon today.
It was in the country.
It was given by one of my new fiber friends.
It was lovely.

This small group of ladies get together once a month.
They share a meal.
They talk about weaving or spinning or felting.
They share their projects.
They are fiber folks.

I walked about on the 20 acres surrounding my new friend's house and studio.
Tucked near one of the ponds was a small fishing shack.

The cattails have gone to seed.
The gardens are full of art.
These are fun people.
These are kind people.
These are people that know the magic of fiber.

I am making fiber friends.

Can Stacey come. She would love to meet these people. She just felted a penguin, a rooster, a bluebird, and some snowpeople.

Cattails.. what a nice name :)
These grow in Latvia, too, and we have a boring name for them.. ;)
Sweet pics!

Dear Bernie,
Tell Stacey to pack a bag of fiber and come on. We could have a fantastic time. I still have to be outside with the birds and the bugs. I think I like the idea of learning to knit so I can knit and take photgraphs..
I would love to see Stacey's work. Does she have an etsy shop? My daughter gave me the sweetest Alpaca felted Penguin. I could use
a Blue Bird!
Stacey and I could be felting friends!

Dear Wendy,
It is SO incredible. They do not know me as a stranger and they make me feel comfortable...like I have come home. I laugh and am pleased to be with the energy of these fine ladies. A couple of times Ihad to go outside and be withthe birds...I was overwhelmed by their kindness.
Oh, I hope they are lucky to have found me! I know I am lucky to have found them.
Namaste,
Sherry

Dear Marmee,
This was a fun country home!
There was a horse and cats and a donkey too. They have a lotus pond
that I saw photographs of, outstanding. I plan on going back for a photo shoot this spring and a felting class.
I am so happy you are thinking of joining your local Garden Club. Years ago I was involved with a small group. I was a young woman, in my 30's. The only problem I had with that group of ladies is they were more interested in big blooms and not so much organic for the bees!I stayed for almost ten years....I have missed the companionship of the ladies. Now I have that wonderful "fiber sisterhood".
The cattails look like felt to me!

Dear Sue,
I almost did not bring the camera.
These ladies are incredible fiber artists. I was concern since I only had my little soft scuptured hats to share. At the last minute I decide my camera goes where I go fiber or not. I am so glad I did bring it. The ladies were already aware of my photography work! I was asked to take some photographs. I think I will take it every time. I am a photographer and a fiber lady.
Sherry, who loves her camera

Dear Sniegaroze,
I love the snow scapes you phtographed. I wish I had some snow. It is bitterly cold and the ground is bare....I worry for the birds whenit is this cold. At least snow is insulating.
The cattails are very pretty no matter what we call them!
Stay warm,
Sherry

Dear Deb,
Oh yes, I am having lots and lots of fun. Meeting the ladies is a bonus...being able to share and be inspired and learn so much is fantastic.

Dear Cheryl,
What is amazing is these ladies not only want to share but they also want to teach. There is no competition just honest sharing and suggestions. Lots of support.
I love the way fiber art dove tails with my love of nature. It is the human expression...I love that.

Oh Sherry! You have been a busy bee since we last saw each other. I am so happy you found those fiber ladies. I just spent a day with them over a decade ago and that day is still vivid in my head. It was so much fun.

I thought of you when I accidentally ran across this site recently (my favorite is the fox):

Glad you're having so much fun. The "warm" weather today was such a relief.
