Once in a lifetime

Once in a lifetime,
if you are very fortunate,
you meet someone who knows
you by your spirit.

Once in a lifetime,
when the stars are in perfect alignment,
a true plant person comes into you life.
It is when you know you are connected.
It is when you no longer feel alone.

Once in a lifetime,
when the winds of change blow into your heart
and you cannot keep going,
you met someone who hears and sees and knows
Mother Nature as you do.

Someone who loves the bees.
Someone who loves the wild flowers.
Someone who respects all of life.

Once in a lifetime,
when you are awake and sad and call for a friend
one comes with soothing balms.
Someone who shares in the joy and in the concern.
Someone who knows the plants will heal if we allow.

I have been graced and honoured with the friendship of Cheryl, from My Wildlife Santuary.
We know each other in spirit. When I visit her gardens I am welcomed and she gently shows the way to sustainable living. With integrity she manages her grounds. She replants when the rabbits dig up the ferns. They too have a place! She provides housing for the hedgehogs and bee boxes. The butterflies and birds are fed and given water. Her journal is a work of love.

We know each other through the flora and fauna, hers are English mine Midwestern America.
In these pages I feel her hands and her heart.

Her spirit speaks to mine.
We are an ocean away but in a heart beat, a thought, I am walking on her country lane and smiling at the snow drops.
She is my friend for all ages.
She had a tree planted to celebrate our friendship and my birthday.
The certificate will hang in my office.

Someday I will visit Brede High Woods with my friend.
Someday we will see each other's eyes.
Until that time I am grateful I have found her here....

Dear Sherry.......what can I say....I am honoured.......such a beautiful post, my words are simple....but the feelings are the same.

We will always be friends......and work together for the good of all the little creatures....those that do not have a voice....

Our hopes and dreams walk the same path....our journey will be an interesting one.....we are both planners....we both look ahead....we have much to do.....

I look forward to our journey.....

What a wonderful gesture on Cheryl's part! And this is just as beautiful a tribute to her, Sherry. I am sure she is touched by your gratitude and friendship. My hope is to be able to go to Britain in the next year or two; I would love to meet Cheryl and stroll through her gardens. I hope that you can meet her in person someday, Sherry; I've always thought the two of you were kindred spirits. You are both an inspiration to all of us!

Dear Cheryl,
You are so dear to me.
We are on an adventure you and I ...we do have lots to do.
Knowing you are only a thought away helps.
May our tree grow to be tall and strong and a home for the birds and the bugs.
Namaste,
Sherry

Dear Wendy,
It is just amazing to me how a friendship so strong and mighty can be formed here in hyperspace! I love that. I love that I know you and Cheryl in spirit and in that knowing we are true friends, abiding friends...not situational but friends chosen by our spirits.
I have chosen Wednesdays to showcase the different friends I have made here. It was perfect my birthday gifts from Cheryl came last night. She is a treasure.
I will be aiming the spotlight on you soon!
It is an honor to have friends in spirit.
Namaste,
Sherry

Dear Rose,
Oh my goodness! You get to go to England. If you meet Cheryl will you please give her 100 smiles for me? Also a few dozen hugs?
I stroll the woodland path and see Poppi. I smile when the Hedgehog peeks out to see who is coming. I look for the violets and the Blue Tits.
It is a comfort knowing Cheryl is caring for the bees.
She inspires me to be the best I can be even when I am tired.
We are kindred spirits, we are friends. I am honoured.
Grace brought us together.
Namaste,
Sherry

Dear Lisa,
No one knows when they will touch another's life. No one knows when they will be touched. For Cheryl and I we touched each other. I knew I loved her when I saw her bee boxes. These were simple little houses for the bees. She was not asking the bees to give her honey...she was giving to the bees. I knew then she was my friend.
Last spring Cheryl walked with me when I was so sick. She cared. I am grateful she encouraged me to get well. I am almost there too!
It is through grace that we found each other...

Dear Shelia,
I am sure my husband would take me to England if I asked. One day I will. I will love it I am sure. I am somewhat concerned I will not want to come home!
For now I dream and visulize Cheryl's garden paths. For now I read about her birds. Now I can see her wild flowers in the book she sent.
We are kindred...we are connected.
So glad you are back blogging. I missed you! E-mails did help.
Hugs,
Sherry

Dear Sue,
Thank you. My husband took me to see the butterflies for my birthday outing.
Cheryl knew my birthday was coming up and had the tree planted to celebrate our friendship. A tremendous gift...I am over the moon happy to know a tree grows for the two of us.
I thought maybe others would see what a fantastic gift this is and plant a tree as a gift in their area. We have memorial trees planted for those that have died but a living relationship is so fine to celebrate...
Hope you are staying warm.
It is bitterly cold at my house.
Sherry,

Hi Sherry,

I am so glad that you found my blog so I could find yours. I think your blog is beautiful and uplifting so, guess what? I was just given the Lemonade Award and in turn I am giving it to you. Thanks for taking the time to share all of these beautiful pictures of nature with us and stories of your life.

I love the idea of planting trees for loved ones. I too have planted many trees in honor of those I love.

Dear Cindy,
How very kind of you to think of Corner and me. We do try to keep a sunny outlook. I have been known to get a wee bit whiney....but it passes.
I shared your blog with my fiber group. I love your bags. They are just fantastic.
Thank you again.
