It's May, it's May!

The ribbons of the May Pole
dance in the breeze.

The Rhododendron is in full bloom.

The Lilly of the Valley are ringing.

The Dandelion clocks tell us it is time.

It is May!
The fairies sing!

Happy May to you Sherry.......the may pole is beautiful. All over the UK at 5.30 a.m. the morris dancers saw in the dawn on May first....it is a beautiful ceremony that goes back in time...dancing in the forests....

Your Rhodi's and lily of the valley are ahead of mine.....they are beautiful....and who could not love a dandelion clock...Poppi adores them.......

I remember doing a May Pole dance when I was a young girl; I wonder if kids today even know what that is? The lily of the valley are so dainty; they do look like bells ringing in a new season. Happy May Day, Sherry!

Hi Sherry,
A beautiful introduction to May.
Your photographs are so exquisite and this set reminds me of a special day in the month of May long ago, when my parents-in-law, came to visit and in their car was the most wonderful surprise.
A pitcher of lily-of-the-valley and an 8 week old white kitten. We named her Lily. My very first cat! She was to become the subject of many drawings and the inspiration for illustrations of a little book about her and the garden. (not published yet...hopefully someday)
Thanks so much for visiting my blog Shells and Roses and stop by again! Over at my other blog, Furry and Feathered Friends you will find the birds and critters that visit us!
best wishes,
Nan

Hello Sherry, thank you so much for finding me and leaving your kind comment on my blog. I am so pleased because it means I have discovered your wonderful blog(s) and have spent over two hours enjoying them! (Shh, don't tell anyone, I really should have been doing other things!) There is still lots more to read and I will take time later today to visit again.

Lily of the Valley was my dear late mother's favourite flower but it has never grown happily in my garden, I must try again, the Dandelions grow very happily though! :-D

All your photos are beautiful, you have such colourful birds there, many of them very different to ours and how amazing to see the Bluebird nesting in your garden.

Thank you, I feel you have given me a Springtime gift and I wish you a Very Happy May and I will come back regularly.

Yeah for May! Our dandelion clock is a bit different. Some blooms have started in the neighborhood, but in our yard they are not in flower just yet.
