Elegant birds even when they give the warning cry.
E is for the Eastern Tailed-blue butterfly.
Although they are very tiny
they are equal in beauty to the large swallowtails.
We plant clover to ensure they have plenty of food.
Seeing them nectar in the yard is exciting.
E is for Echinacea, the purple coneflower.
The roots make a healing tea.
E is for ear.
When the bees whisper we listen.
I am an Entomologist at heart.
I study insects.
E is for the Ebony Jewel Wing.
These are the most exquisite of all the Damselflies.
Perhaps the most exquisite of all the insects.
For me the Ebony Jewel Wings are the essence of all that is beautiful.
I am enthusiastic about protecting the Ebony Jewel Wing's environment.
I would like to entice everyone to join in my efforts.
I love the Earth and all of her creatures.
Happy ABC Wednesday.
Thank you mrsnesbitt and team.

I love all your E's. Nice photos as always. The bee whispering is really really nice.
An excellent selection there. Although I was feeling for the person with the ear :-)
Exquisite e- photos! Great macro, Q! I liked them all even the one with the wasp!
I am in awe of your photographic skills. Amazing, exquisite, beautiful -- I'm not sure there are enough words to describe these images.
Beautiful! That damsel fly is exquisite. Your photos are always worth viewing.
Thank you, on behalf of the Team.
Lots of "E", have an egret too. Didn't know Echinacea (sp) came from that flower!
Beautiful photos!
Watery Wednesday
The Ebony jewel wing is beautiful. We all need to take care of that, that is sacred. The blues are beautiful...I have many in the garden but they have not settled well this year. They are my favourite butterflies....I love them because of their size and intricate detail.
We must all listen to the bees......Poppi often has bumbles on her hand.......she talks to them. I understand her way....I talk to the creatures in my garden.
As I type the church bells are ringing in the village church......it is a sultry evening......
Great photos...I love your egret shots! Elegant is the right word for them...the ebony jewel wing is gorgeous...
Cool idea of the bee whispering into your ear. Nice spur of the moment shot.
"E"xcellent choice of "Es".
I love insects too! You'll often find beetles and flies and suchlike on my blog!
That little tailed butterfly is exquisite! We have nothing like him - or those lovely damselflies with black wings.
This was so interesting and so beautiful photos! I will be back for sure :)
Those blue butterflies are lovely - I'm very taken with the Goatweed leafwing a couple of posts ago as well - not seen a butterfly that colour before. It is butterfly season here at the moment too, but most of the ones in my garden are whites!
Beautiful pictures! The egret looks wonderful with his fringed feathers and one-legged stance. And the Ebony Jewel Wing is such a stunning damselfly!
Exquisite, as always. I've always been fascinated by the grandeur of the egret and your photos are so elegant! I bought the Cup of Yoga book in your Y post, now will look at the Emotional Yoga book - Another great post!
I can almost hear the egret cry from your photo. Your ebony jewel is gorgeous. Dark wings are a treat when the light catches them.
What delicate, beautiful insects (and photos!) Love them.
We see a dragonfly that looks like the ebony jewelwing at the park. It is beautiful. I never thought I would say I didn't like one of your photos...but the ear photo makes me very nervous! EEEEE!!!!
Q, your photography is absolutely awesome. I can't tell you how much I admire your elegant shots...
Oh my! What beautiful photos. I can't pick a favorite although the damselfly is right up there. :) The little blue are rarely seen here-maybe I need to go out to the clover fields. Thanks for a lovely post.
how'd ya train that bee to whisper in ears? heh! i've always loved, bees, always always! are you familiar with "bad" bugs? i have some hurting my oak tree and matt doesn't know what they are!
excellent captures all!! superb!!
I can't decide which photo I like best since all of them are awesome. You're one great photographer.
Beautiful. I saw so many of the damsel dragon flies while out in my kayak last month. They really are spectacular. I'm not so sure I would want to stand still enough for a photo with a bee on my head though.
Wonderful post, Q. I agree the ebony jewel wing is is the loveliest. I used to see a type of egret her on the farm called a cattle egret. Not as elegant as the water bird but striking. REally enjoyed seeing your butterflies.

Sherry your photos and descriptions are beautiful as always. They never cease to amaze me!
A very enjoyable browse on your blog, the photos are beautiful.
Elegant, Entertaining, Enticing.
Thanks for the Es
why, of all those exquisite pictures, am I most drawn to the ear?
this is an exotic selection of E's! i love all your insects and you capture them so beautifully!
there are gardens in europa park too! and i guess you would enjoy taking photos there!
I love them all, but the Ebony Jewel Wing is absolutely my favorite. I hope to see one live, in person. Thank you for the beautiful photos! -Tammy
A delightful and beautiful set of photos. Your macros are stunning.
Oh that egret is magnificent! I love to watch them when I go on vacation.
You've captured some very nice butterflies and damselflies. The ebony wing is truly a beauty!
And the Ear is a nice touch!! Looks like you had a fun day.
Hugs
Such lovely Es. I could not let a bee that close to me- I am very allergic!
Beautiful as always Sherry, I loved the Egret but then I loved everything! Excellent ;)
