Sunday Safari

Indian Summer warms our November days.

Some leaves remain in the woods.

The squirrels are busy gathering acorns.

November's light amazes me.

We are studying the Medicine Wheel this month.

There is one not too far from my house.

We have visited this wheel before.

I was born under the Earth Renewal Moon.

I find comfort in this spiritual path.

We hiked in the woods near the Medicine Wheel.

A flock of Cedar Waxwings

ate Juniper berries.

The lavender is blooming again.

There are bees and butterflies in the marigolds.
There are leaves covering the ground.
We are staying near the gardens.
We are preparing for winter.
We have come full circle.

Happy Sunday Safari!

Dear Sherry....I am very interested in the medicine wheel. I felt a pull when I viewed it, I shall research this.

November light is very beautiful....the photograph of the leaves has so much colour, yet it is so soft.....a lovely picture.

How lovely to have bees and butterflies in your garden. I am missing mine already, the garden feels so empty.
The birds hide from me and I struggle to get photographs. I shall not give up......

A lovely safari...thank you for sharing your knowledge.

Happy Sunday safari
Stay Strong.

Sherry,

Enjoyed the cedar waxwings and the medicine wheel! Can't hardly wait for the cedar waxwings to come and eat our sparkleberries.

I love how you've captured the light shining through the squirrel's tail, and through the autumn leaves. I too am drawn to pics where the light is shining through flowers, leaves and trees. I never thought about it before, but this November light must be special. Perhaps it's the low sun in the sky. I don't know.

I have great respect for the Medicine Wheel, having studied it a while ago. This was in a classroom. You are fortunate to have one close to you, outside in the open air. What an exciting month this has turned out to be! Complete with butterflies and bees and lavender in bloom!

I've never heard of a medicine wheel before. This must have been a fascinating place to visit, not to mention a moving experience. More and more I am drawn to the wisdom of Native Americans; we can learn so much from them.

We have been enjoying Indian summer, too. I've seen a few butterflies, but the bees seem to have left for the season. I haven't seen any juncos or chickadees yet, but I filled all the bird feeders today to make sure they're ready for them.

You go on such interesting safaris Sherry! The medicine wheel sounds fascinating, I must look it up.

How lovely to be having an Indian Summer, it is so cold and grey here and the days are so very short...it saps my energy...

Your lovely photos with the wonderful light are very cheering, thank you.

What a lovely spiritual path to walk on a Sunday Safari. We have a Labyrinth set in a traditional path nearby ~ perfect for contemplative walks.
