It was 1 degree when I awoke this morning.
Tonight it is to drop to -4 F.
It is bitterly cold.
I gave the birds fresh seed
and suet.
The sun is a welcomed sight.
Too cold for me to be out very long.
I am looking for the Ruby Crowned Kinglet.
Two were here last January when it was so very cold and snowy.
Our birdie friends need all the food we supply, to get them through the cold of winter, and by feeding them we get to see these wonderful creatures at our feeders.
Brrr! In the south of England we think it's cold when it's -4c (that's about 25f!)!
I love your dove - it looks so like one of our collared ones - I imagine it wondering where it put its collar down (or maybe ours are wondering whether they dare to take theirs off!) ;)
This series and also the other has images that touch the heart ... first great tenderness and then understanding a force of these little creatures ...the life force in an expression of incomparable beauty! Thanks for your shots and excuse me if I comment rarely - but I always look! :-)

Sherry,
Way too cold for me! Nice photos of the cardinals and dove!
Loved that last photo in particular! All the birds are lovely and well fed, if they're in your backyard.
Stay warm!
Try to stay warm Sherry. The birds appreciate your offerings. That handsome Flicker makes my heart go pitty patter.
Those beautiful birds must appreciate the food you put out for them, especially in that brutal cold.

Oh how I love your bird/nature photos, Sherry! They just delight me with their crispness and clarity. Stay warm, dear friend!
