Sunday Safari

I went around my house listening.

I wanted to hear the flowers.
I wanted to hear the day.
It is cold outside.
I could hear the sounds of the
 Woodpeckers and the Cardinals
while I worked at my desk.

In January I decorate the house with
penguins and dragons.

They are fun.

I listened to the sounds
of the coffee maker

we had a special treat for this afternoon.

I was delighted

when my tea cup changed
colors from the heat.

My husband did up a basket of cone flower
 seed heads for the birds,
a very wabi sabi thing to do.
While looking out the back door I realized

how much I miss the sounds of the bees.
I miss the bugs.

I find ways of staying entertained in the Winter.

I listen to music

and have my service projects.

Yet I find I want more and more silence.
I want to remember the sounds of Spring.

I find myself thinking about butterflies.

I am planning an adventure
for the end of the month
A short get away.
I need some bug time.

Happy Sunday Safari.

Sounds to me like you are going someplace warm. Love the bee photo. I miss all of the bugs too.

oh, I like that your tea cup changed colour! Your home is alive with flowers and the sounds of birds. I don't see or hear any birds since David died. My feeders stay full. I think they miss him. It is really puzzling.

Hope you have a good time. Winters are so long, we need a get-away.

I like all the shades of red in your photos - a warming effect as my world turns more and more white! Stay cozy, Sherry.

I don't miss all of the bugs, but I miss the bees. (The horses aren't missing the flies.) That's a beautiful bee capture!

I'm coming out of hiding. I haven't commented much, but I still enjoy your safaris sooo much. The bees make me happy. I'm trying to not be so quiet anymore. I've missed teaching and making friends. Thanks for another lovely post.
