Sunday Safari

It was cloudy when I went to the deck this morning.

It was much cooler.
It was enjoyable to be outside.

The bugs were out and about.

The mint is a favorite spot

as are the clovers.

When the clouds thickened
the butterflies and bees sought cover.

The birds came to the deck.
A brief shower freshened the air.

I love the smell of summer rain.

It was a short shower.

I watched Chippy lick the side of the clay pot.
I guess he needed minerals.

The Tigers came out with the sun.

The morning glories folded up.
The temperatures began to rise.

We had a short break from the heat.
Hope every one is staying cool.
Remember to set out water for the birds.

Happy Sunday Safari.

Your photos are fabulous today Sherry. We are just now getting that much needed cooling rain. The temp dropped 15degrees in about as many minutes. Relief. I wish it would stay this way for awhile. The book of poems sound great.

Your photos are amazing, Sherry; they always put a smile on my face. I love the bumble rolling in the pollen and the little chipmunk. The smaller bee is such a fantastic image! We finally got a much-needed shower this morning, too. My garden loved it, and I enjoyed the cooler temperatures today. I'm hoping it stays like this.

Sherry, I love that grasshopper! The texture of him!!
And I so agree with you about the smell of the summer rain. This morning, it started raining just as we were heading out for our walk, but we went anyway, so I could smell the rain...

Hi Sherry, I planted mint this year (spearmint in the garden and chocolate mint in pots on the deck). I love pinching it with my fingers and smelling the heady aroma (almost as good as dessert). You have so much wonderful wildlife in your garden sanctuary.

We seem to be having the same weather. Our heat wave is over now. Showers do freshen the air and water thirsty gardens.
Love your dear little chipmunk. How did you manage to take his pic? The others are lovely too.
Stay cool.

Chippy is a total cutie pie. I love chipmunks but we rarely see them in my neck of the woods. Great post!

Dear Sherry,

Sorry I have not visited for a while. The children have a six week break from school. They will stay with me for three days and three nights each week. Fitting children and parents in is very difficult sometimes.

Your images, as always are stunning. The chipmunk is so sweet. I have a leaf cutter bee laying her eggs in an empty terracotta pot in one of the flower beds. She works so hard.....
This is a stressful times for the garden. It will survive with your help.
