Drama in the backyard.

The Praying Mantis
has been perched on the pink zinnia
for two days now.
Her meals come to her.
Cooper's Hawk has to hunt.

The backyard is full of Doves and Sparrows.
He usually can grab dinner without too much trouble.

Hi Mon@rch,
No Monarchs! I could not beleive it.
I looked about a few times but never saw one come in. Lots of Skippers.
There are all sorts of Hawks that hunt the backyard, Copper's is the most successful. There are too many bushes for the Northern Harriers and the Red Tailed.

Dear Lynne,
That is right! I have watched the Mantis get all sorts of meals. This time I was able to take pictures before it happened!

Hi Mary,
It is exciting when Copper or Harrier comes into the backyard. The birds fly every which way...
I never mind. I am heavy on Sparrows and Doves. I bet your Cooper's Hawks eat very well! The good life for every one.
