I have never seen this one before.
The Fig Beetle found a shady spot in the Mimosa tree.
A tiny wasp was in the Queen Ann's Lace.
The Red-spotted Purple found shade in the Ash tree.
I am inside reading, waiting for the heat wave to subside.
100 degrees for tomorrow with high humidity.

Wow, it's pretty hot in MO today. We have been a couple of days in the 90's here. You have such colorful butterflies...I'm glad you can share them. I've spotted a couple different butterflies, but we just don't have the variety here.
The red spotted purple is beautiful Sherry.....a lovely selection this week......I love to see caterpillars in the garden, it shows things are working well with the butterflies......
Gosh the weather is very hot with you and the humidity so high.....do you cope well?
It is raining here and warm, around 70 degrees.....
Thanks for another wonderful safari, I always enjoy visiting this day and seeing what is in your garden......
Well I have plenty of col air to send you tonight. Actaully I'm going have to close my windows a bit. The air has a bit a chilly to it and I'm not use to it!

Oh my word..100 degrees! I'm sure I'd melt!!
It seems that all those bugs and wings don't mind the heat.Sherry it's always so exciting to come by and see
all your many butterflies!
hugs aNNa xo
Stay cool, Sherry :o) It's hot here, too. When it's 80 degrees at 7am, you know you're inside for the day!
We are having about the same weather forcast for today Sherry. I hope you don't melt.
Dear Chris,
Your Sunday Safari was very informative! I think it is very fun to see what is going on in other's gardens. I learn so much from you. Teaching each other while having fun is my idea of learning.
I am hot!!
Looking forward to a cool down later this week.
Sherry
Dear Cheryl,
I love seeing the caterpillars too. I wish I would have bought the caterpillar field guide I saw at the used book store on Saturdday. I could have used it to id this strange one.
I am taken with the Red-spotted Purple. I think I want to raise the bar a bit on my photos....maybe add a bit of drama or whimsy? While photgraphing this Red Spotted I was taken with the soft light of the background. I think the heat adds an element to the photo.
I do not do very well in the heat. I have to be very careful of heat stroke. I make sure I drink extra water when it is hot. I also seem to stay inside more in the heat of the day.
If I do venture forth I just make sure I wear my hat and come in before I am over hot.
Sunday Safari is fun.
See you next week on the prowl.
Sherry
Dear Cathy,
Oh my how nice!!
I would love a bit of a northern wind to cool off in. I just came in from a quick walk about the yard. I watched as a Gieant Swallowtail shopped me for a Prickly Ash Tree. I must get at least one in the ground this Autumn.
I have not visited you for so long. Please excuse my delay. I am on my way right now!
Hugs,
Sherry
Dear Anna,
I hide inside during the heat of the day!
I think the bugs like the humidity. It is tropical outside!
Sherry
Dear Mary,
I do as much as I can before 9am when it gets this hot. I watch the birds pant and hope they will be okay. In the past I have seen birds get over hot.
You stay cool too.
Sherry
Dear Lisa,
I use afternooons like today to catch up on responses and to go visiting.
Stay cool.
Sherry
I loved the butterfly best of all. Since reading your blog and others, I am much more aware of the "critters" around me.
Thank you so much for this lesson. Often it's just being "aware" that enriches our spirit and brings a profoundness to everyday life.
Youch! 100 on the mercury. We have been hitting 90, but never that high!
This is a new one for me, and isn't it pretty!
Lovely post as usual.
Gorgeous photos! I love the butterflies! It is as hot there as we are normally in AZ- I wish cooler weather to you soon!
Dear Wendy,
Being aware is part of waking up!
I think awareness is so very important for living a balanced life. Without awareness we might overlook the bees and the butterflies.
BZZZZZ is so much better than ZZZZZZ.
Namaste,
Sherry
Dear Scienceguy 288,
It is very hot here. We normally do get a few weeks of upper 90's and 100's towards the end of July and first of August. The humidity also gets high and makes for very uncomfortable afternoons.
The butterflies make me forget all about the misery.....
Sherry
Dear Sandi,
Your garden is also filled with bees and butterflies and beautiful beetles!
Bugs are great.
Namaste,
Sherry
Dear Dee,
It is way too hot!
The forecast is for as northern wind to come this evening. Hopefully a cool down will follow.
Glad you enjoy the butterflies. I love them.
Sherry
