Sunday Safari

There is a blush on the maple trees.

I walked in my gardens.
Temperatures dipping.

The bittersweet is opening.

Snapdragons still bloom.

The cockscomb is ready for drying.

The Fire bush is ablaze.

The red clover is offering nectar.
Bees are waiting for warmer temperatures.

The morning glories are closed.

Acorns scatter across the lawn.

I hung the suet.
The Chick-a-dees were pleased.

I am planning a field trip for next weekend.
I want to visit Cahokia, a World Heritage Site.
It is the Season of the Ancients.
It will honor the people that came before me.

Nice series of fall shots. I'm glad the chickadees are happy now! And thanks for the link, that is an interesting site. I bookmarked it.

Hi Sherry, It is looking a lot like fall around here too. Lovely shots. I haven't seen a bee in a couple of days. Too wet and cold.

Wonderful fall shots. I especially love the pictures of the clover, the morning glory, and the acorns. Just beautiful. The chickadees look very happy.

Dear Sherry....autumn is here for sure.....and your gardens show the beautiful colours she offers us at this time....

Is the little bird on the feeders a chickadee?.....I am trying to learn the names of birds and butterflies abroad. It is very much like our Great Tit.....

It is good to honour those that walked before us. It will be a wonderful time, of that I am sure.
I shall walk with you.....

We have a warm week ahead with cold nights......I like cool nights and sleep more soundly....

Safari's will be more challenging as winter arrives...I am looking forward to seeing how things develope....

Have a lovely week......

Your fall garden is lovley. It's so nice to take a virtual walk with you.

I'm so sorry that I haven't been around much recently; but I've had visitors all summer. K.'s cousins just moved out Wednesday and his Mom is flying out with me to New Mexico on Friday.

I am taking my computer with me,as I plan on catching up with everyone while I'm home!

Have a beautiful week.

Vikki.

how refreshing to come here and see all the autumnal things going on in your area. i was just visiting cheryl's and saw her chickadees and then came here to see yours. i love your suet holder it is so decorative and sturdy. clover is a magnet for all the nectar loving critters.
i just love seeing the morning glory all tight and shutup. they are perfect open or shut.
i adore when acorns start falling and the leaves get crunchy. autumn is here. happy days.

Your snapdragons are still in bloom! Mine died a long time ago. I was so disappointed. The morning glory looks elegant all closed up. Acorns abound in our yard too.
Cute little chickadees! Will get my suet out this week. I'm seeing lots of bluejays now that the leaves are falling - the jays like the suet too.
Have a good trip next weekend.

It is fall isn't it. Those bees must be happy to have some flowers left to prepare for the changing season. I bet the squirrels love the acorns.
