Hmm, let's see. For me, it was in the 50s today and woke up to frost on the ground. About 70% of my leaves are now down.
You lucky thing to still have butterflies gracing your garden.
I haven't seen a butterfly here for quite a few days. It hasn't been all that cold but not much blooming now.

I haven't seen many butterflies since last week. We are getting much cooler now. The fireplace is burning to keep the chill out. I refuse to turn the heat on. After all, it was near 90 last week :o/

It is colder for you. My highs are in the 60-70's. Butterflies like sunny and in the 60's at least. My leaves are just beginning to fall. The grass is still green. I have not had 1st frost yet so lots of flowers for the butterflies!

Once frost comes I too will see few butterflies. I will put some fruit out on warm days for the fruit eaters.

I saw a Monarch yesterday! No photo. I was getting out of the car when he lifted off of a zinnia and flew southwest.
I am wondering if I will see any butterflies in November??
Often after frost we have a week of warm up in mid to late November. We call it Indian Summer.
I might see some of the over wintering butterflies at that time.

I am so happy for you.
Having lots of zinnias and marigolds does make a difference for the butterflies. These are heavy nectar flowers and the butterflies can stay in one area for a long time fueling up.
Nice for the photographer too.

Temperatures have dropped here. We arrived home last night from our "weekend away" to find that the night before we had our 1st frost. Enjoy your butterflies Sherry - they have picked the perfect garden to linger in :-}
