Bringing in the heat

It is so cold today.

I need warmth.

I look to the red of the male Cardinal.

It is a watercolor day.

Even bundled up
and wrapped in my blankets
I am cold.

I smiled when I saw your post today - I have posted on our red cardinals too :-} Our male has brought his love with him :-} With a garden all white they look even more spectacular than usual.

What a beautiful bird this is, you are so lucky to have such colourful visitors. I never tire of seeing photos of them.

Dear Deb,
We are connect even tho we are many miles apart! I am excited that you have a pair of Cardinals in your gardens. They will sing sweet songs. I bet they nest too.
With all your snow as a background I bet they stand out! How exquisite...
ahhhh...winter does have its joy.

Dear Cheryl,
I take lots of pictures of the Cardinals! There are so many of them. When it is so cold they just warm my heart. some of the males are singing too. It is a hopeful sound to winter weary ears.
Glad you enjoy the photos. I thought these were very pretty.

Love your cardinals and dislike the cold!! My oldest granddaughter knitted a pair of handwarmers for my Christmas. I can use the computer while wearing them! So cold the other night and I couldn't get my feet warm - so I briefly heated the handwarmers in the microwave and put them on my legs (didn't put my toe through the thumb hole, lol)and in a few minutes I felt toasty. I e-mailed today, asked if she'd knit me another pair - as it's so hard to use them both on legs and arms at the same time. She laughed, said she would. I'm happy.

They have a warming effect, Sherry. Keep your eye on them.

Dear Mary,
I am looking forward to when I can sit outside for hours at a time...
It has been just too cold for too long.
The birds are the only reason I even go outside.
I will hang on, Spring is just around the corner.

Dear Sue,
Hand warmers are excellent! I have been using the silk glove liners and they work very nicely too.
Wonderful you have a granddaughter that can knit. I love the idea of putting the warmers in the micro- wave. I have a few pairs of leg warmers but never thought of using the hand warmers for feet! I will next time my little feet get too cold.
When I saw the Sharp-shinned Hawk I forgot all about the cold and took off walking. I wanted to go around the bushes without disturbing the hawk and get some front photos. I ended up walking down the street and into the side yard of my neighbor's house. By the time I returned home my feet were so cold. I had taken off with only a pair of moccasins on! I wrapped my feet in towels and sat by the space heater. Next time I will warm those towels in the micro-wave.
Stay warm. Hope some of your snow has melted!
