Home

We had an amazing time
in the Pacific Northwest.

Being with our daughter and son-in-love was delightful.

Spring has come to Portland, Oregon.

I am starting the laundry.
I still have the mail to pick up.

I treasure each moment I spent with my daughter.
I already miss her!

sherry,

i have to admit i miss it when you are away.
so happy you enjoy your time with daughter and son-in-love.
how was oregon? it looks beautiful. we have had rain this week, too.
i know that feeling of being with the one you love and then leaving. it is so hard not to live close together. i hope you are able to reflect on the newest special memories you just made, and be fullfilled with those.
blessings and hugs to you!

Welcome Home Sherry. I was wondering if you would make it home before the snow storm hit your area. I saw on the weather this a.m. that your area is to have a snow storm. I am glad to see you are home safe and sound before it hits.

I can't wait to see/hear all about your trip. I bet it is beautiful out there. I know you miss your daughter already. You can now relish your trip.

Dear RainGardener,
Thank you! I am happy to be home.
It rained 98% of the time we were in the PNW!
Lake Quinault was cold and rainy...
We hiked anyway!
I love the temperate rain forest. It is where I am really "at home."
I could be a forest sitter.

Dear Mimi,
Thank you.
I am looking forward to catching up with you!
I am somewhat tired. It will take me a few days to rest up!

Dear Marmee,
You do understand! I miss the kids so very much!
I have much to do now that spring has sprung but I will look back on these last eight days and remember the laughter and all the fun.
Thank you for missing me. It is nice to be missed.
Oregon is beautiful. It is tree filled and green! We drove up the coast into Washington State. A fantastic drive.
I am posting on my Holiday blog about the trip.
We did see some birds even in all the rain.
Thank you again for your kind words.

Sorry the lake was showing off for you Sherry (rainy) that doesn't make for great hiking. But I guess that's what keeps it green and beautiful. I can appreciate it's beauty as an adult but being raised there was like the end of the earth! I love going back every year now - down the road a bit farther to our pioneer reunion where my Grandfather homesteaded.
At least ya had a great time seeing your daughter - that was most important.

Dear Lisa,
I did not see any tv or listen to any radio news the whole time I was gone. I heard at Portland's airport Denver's airport was closed yesterday morning due to a blizzard. I am so glad I flew non-stop!
We are in a winter advisory. If the storm tracks north we could get a foot of snow! I hope not. All my daffodils are in full bloom. Snow will be okay if it is not too heavy, a foot would be too much!
I shall put together a few posts on the holiday blog. We saw some birds and even was able to get a few photographs. It rained almost the entire time. We enjoyed playing with the kids....
Portland has wonderful restaurants so we went out some. My daughter is a marvelous cook too. I was spoilt.
Getting back to my routine will take a few days.
Nice to be home.
Sherry

Welcome back! I'm so glad you had a wonderful trip but I know the little let down we always feel when we've spent time with our family and have to leave. Enjoy the weekend!

I'm so happy you made it back ahead of the ice and snow today.
