Sunday Safari

The veil is thin today.

I went looking for Spirit Houses.

I found two Praying Mantis' egg cases.

I will keep a watch
for hatchlings come next April.

Her time with me is coming to an end.

I have enjoyed our season
together.

I have yet to have a Praying Mantis
land on my head.
Perhaps next year.

The seeds of the Cosmos

and the bulb of the Hyacinth

hold the promise of Spring.

I watch.

I observe.

I have all the time I need

to know beauty,

to stand in the light,

and to honor all of life.

Each day is a magical day.

Today is an Indigo Day.

Our friends are coming over this afternoon
for chili and snacks.

We will take a garden tour

and watch the oats grow.

I want to share my story
of the Owl in the cemetery

and my quest to find Merlin.

Many people are honoring
their ancestors today and tomorrow

and remembering old traditions.
Perhaps my friend and I shall catch a falling leaf.

The moon is waning.

I put my prayer beads on.

I did my  morning pages

by the light of our
Jack-o-lantern.

I did a bit of Green Magic
with some fresh mint.

Happy Halloween.
Happy Sunday Safari.

Such a beautiful post Sherry. We are walking the same path at this time. I feel far away at the moment......I am not sure why.

I have connection with the praying mantis. Whilst eating in a restaurant in Spain a praying mantis entered. It was bright green, large and very beautiful. Woman started to scream and I saw the waitress make a swift exit. She ran back with a fly swat in her hand and headed for the mantis. Riley and Poppi had a look of horror on their sweet faces. As you know I am very reserved but found myself telling everyone to leave the creature alone. The mantis by this time was sitting on the wall, I walked over, cupped it in my hands and left the restaurant. I walked along the road and put it down carefully on a large shrub.
To my surprise people clapped when I entered the restaurant.....they were relieved it had gone....my granchildren were thrilled it lived on. Had I not been there the poor creature would have met it's end, of that I am sure.

Merlin, mysterious merlin......I so love all that surrounds him.
I love the world of mystery and magic......

Tku for sharing your thoughts on this day.....I shall go back to read your post again.

Happy Sunday safari....I am hoping to join in next week.

Sherry, your photos positively glow today, especially the first one which is stunning. I can feel the magic in the air through your post. How exciting to see the mantis egg cases; I still have yet to see one, but they must be hiding, because the mantises come to visit me every year. I did some research on the mantis for a post long ago, but I had never heard of this superstition--apparently, I have had a run of good luck:)

Hooray for Cheryl for rescuing the poor mantis in Spain! Hope you had a great Halloween, Sherry.

So that is what mantis egg cases look like!
That first photo simply appeals to me on so many levels!!! Gorgeous, as all of your work!

I'm not sure I'd want a praying mantis to land on my head. lol That would be startling. But it'd probably be worth a scare to get recognition.

The Praying Mantis is a fascinating insect. We seem to have a lot more of the Chinese species around than the Carolina.

I love the photo of the skipper on the Cosmos. His underwings look like they're bathing in the orange glow from the flower.

Your post has truly captured the magic of fall.

I've never seen a praying mantis egg case either! I hope it's still around next spring, so you can watch the hatchlings.

Your photos are glorious! I especially like the way the light shines through the butterfly's wings.

Halloween is a magical time and you've captured it beautifully.
