Lincoln's Sparrow

I heard a new to me song.
I saw a new to me little bird.
Lisa from Greenbow helped to identify my little visitor,
Lincoln's Sparrow.

Thank you, Lisa.

He is a shy little one.

How exciting! It's so hard to identify the sparrows. We have some but not one like that! WOW!

Dear Lavender Dreamer,
I know a few of the Sparrows but this one was new to me! Lisa is very nice to help me out on my bird identifications. If my husband is home we work together until we are sure.
This little Sparrow is about the size of Chipping Sparrow and has a song like a House Wren. Very sweet, little shy bird. I am so happy he is here. I hope he sings in a mate!

Dear Sue,
I was hoping to come visit this evening but time once again has gotten away!
He is a sweet little bird!
I just downloaded a series of photos of the Brown Thrasher gathering nesting material...Spring is a busy time in my backyard.

I'm excited about your Lincoln Sparrow. I don't think I've seen him here at Ships Landing. I love hearing the Sparrow songs. I have a pair of Song Sparrows that live in one of the flower beds and they serenade me every morning. :) Those Orioles are so beautiful, Sherry! Now that one makes me envious. :) I would love to look out my window and see one of those. :) Aren't the irises just gorgeous? I have more of them opening every day. Pure delight. Rain on a roof at night is one of my favorite sounds too. :)

You do have a treasure here Sherry. I don't see one every year and when I do get to see it it is a brief sighting for the most part.
