Kite Festival

My friend and I went to a kite festival.

It was her first.

It was lots of fun.

Tinker Bell was flying

with lots of other wonderful Kites.

I think I will join my local Kite club.
I would like to know about all the kite events in my area.
They had a tent with information and patches.

I like the patches.

The kite flying field was full
of children and adults flying their kites.

We brought my minature silk butterfly.
She flies from a bamboo stick.
I keep her on a short string.

There were a couple of two line kites.
They are always fun to watch.

With a crowed flying field you have to be careful
to avoid tree eating kites.
Back home we sat on the deck
and watched the birds.

We talked about trip plans
and the garden.

We talked and laughed.

We have been friends since we were
little girls.

I am so pleased to share kites with my dear friend.

I am a kite enthusiast!

I've not flown a kite for a long, long time - air born, fluttering, swaying - I want to pilot one! I'd need to sit and watch the wildlife, too, after such a high!

Sounds like a wonderful day, Sherry! I like your silk Monarch--I think I would want to keep such a pretty kite on a short string, too. My granddaughter, though, would love Tinkerbell--perfect for a little girl!

This was a very joyful post Sherry - I'm longing to fly a kite - maybe in the not too distant future with "the Elliot!" I liked the way you described your friendship along with the kite-flying!

WOW! Amazing kites! When we were at the Biltmore we saw a hawk overhead and I was taking photos of it...when this lady walked up and asked what we saw. She said, Are you a bird enthusiast? I probably looked at her with a puzzled look. I guess I assumed everyone was! heehee! Thought you might get a kick out of that! ♥

No wonder you had such a great day. Beautiful kites and your good friend by your side. Aaaaah. Nothing better that that. I love seeing all of these kites too. There has been so much wind the past few days and the weather has been perfect for kite flying or doing any thing else outside. Cheers.
