Japanese Flute

Sherry, This is one of my favorites of your videos so far. I love it from the beginning with the japanese Iris it all flowed together so well.

I love staghorn sumac. Some view it as a weed tree. It is so beneficial to wildlife as well as being so pretty during summer fall.

The bird shots with feathers spread. So much animation.

Even Luna looked up from her resting place when the flute saluted the full wolf moon.

That shot with the face in the trees was so appropriate.

The Red-tailed Hawk soaring made my spirit soar.

I didn't want it to end. Somehow feeling a little empty as the tree limbs depicted.

Dear Lisa,
Thank you. This selection of music is "Honshirabe" from the 1977 release "Shakuhachi- The Japanese Flute". Kohachiro Miyata plays the shakuhachi, a hollowed-out bamboo tube which has four holes in front and one in back. It is an ancient Japanese wind instrument. This piece speaks to me. So glad it did to you too.
The sumac that grows in my backyard is a Shaghorn Sumac. Years ago an elderly friend asked me to grow it. It was on the endangered list as it was being "sprayed" out of existence. Very similiar to the staghorn but has very "shaggy" bark. The birds do eat the seeds and I think it is beautiful. It is native to Missouri.
A snow shower is falling.
Hope you are warm.
Enjoy your weekend.

You keep getting better, Sherry. I am at work right now and I must admit, the Japanese Flute made me doze off for 2 brief seconds... Sorry, but it's a compliment.

Lovely, Sherry! Smooth music and soft action, but am particularly fond of the shots of 'wood' and bark! I have sumac growing in my yard - don't know much about it but it is beautiful year-round. Again, another glorious Friday video!

Dear Mary,
I am so happy this piece brought you some relief from the day's stress. I do my "yoga" breathing while listening to this piece. Very relaxing!
I feel very weary today. I feel the need for a long winter's nap.

Dear Sue,
The sumac is part of my "Japanese" garden as is the Bamboo. I like the way the Sumac grows. I like bamboo for just about everything.
I too enjoy bark and wood. I find it so interesting.
Soon I will be packing up the Asian music and moving to another culture.
Thank you for enjoying the slide shows.

Dear Jeanne,
I also am drawn to the Asian way. I find it very, very beautiful.
Celebrating the Asian culture in January is fun and helps to make January an exciting month. My husband asked me if I wanted to pack January up this weekend. I decided to wait until next week. It should not take too long to put everything away. I want just a couple more days with the lovely little items that bring the culture alive in my house.
Thank you.

Dear Cathy,
Thank you. I enjoy sharing the different instruments. The Japanese flute is amazing. I thought about this piece and took some pictures outside while on my walks to go with. Adding in my bamboo and some of the "art shots"
I do seem to work.
Glad you enjoyed this. Once you do videos you also will have lots of fun creating them.

Dear Sprite,
Thank you. I was backing up photos the other day and cleaning up stored videos in my computer. I was watching them full screen when I decided to come to Corner to see them. I watched all the slide shows I have done. I enoyed each of them. Seeing them like others do when they come. This one was so peaceful. I really liked it. So happy you did too.
Love,
Sherry
