Dear Sprite,
I think I will plant more parsley seed and enlarge the fennel area for next year.
After that I think I will be good for the Black Swallowtails.
Next is to get everything just right for the Pipevines...
Gardening for the butterflies is very fun.

I am just starting this butterfly stuff. I am wondering if I can catch them?

May i catch the butterflies or will that harm them?

Dear Ash,
Just catch them with the camera or watch them with binoculars.
They are beautiful. Let them fly and nectar and lay their eggs and come again to bring joy at a moments notice.

Dear Chris,
Thank you. I see the female Black Swallowtail often. I am learning her flight patterns. I waited for the "flight to the fennel".

Hi Anonymous,
Just enjoy them flying. Some people are trained on how to mark a butterfly for studying the ranges and such. I say enjoy the moment with them. That is what I do. No harm.
That way they can come another day.
