Blowing snow

When I went to feed the birds at 7am
it was 53 degrees Fahrenheit.
By noon the temperatures had dropped to 15 degrees
and blowing snow was coming down sideways, from the west.
This is not yet a blizzard.
Not a white out.
Not yet.

Swirls of snow blowing off roof tops kept visibility low.
I drove home from class.

Grateful to be home.
I checked on the birds.

They are finding food and shelter.
I am packing up January.

Dear Jeanne,
Thank you! I heard last night on the weather that for a couple of hours our blowing snow was "Blizzard" conditions! I could not see across the street for awhile.
All is well for now. I heard our weather is to be "normal" for a few days. Normal would be just fine.
I need a break from the roller-coaster.
Hugs,
Sherry

Dearest Sherry,

These are such beautiful photos, with the pink and red backgrounds. Oh, they just fill me up with love!

Glad you got home safe too!

The second Cardinal picture is my fave. It expresses to me the moment. The cardinal seems so alive. Almost animated with the blowing snow.

I hope you are out of the bizzards now. Stay warm and healthy.

Dear Sprite,
The red background is actually the red of my neighbor's tool shed! The pink is the way the light reflects in the daogwood tree. Background can be so interesting. Close up photos often blur the backgrounds. I like that.
Glad you also enjoyed these pictures.

Dear Lisa,
Another snow storm is to come tonight and into tomorrow. I did not see if "blowing snow" was part of the forecast or not. Often our heaviest snow comes in February. I remember a blizzard when I was 16 years old that was so terrible and it was March 1st!
The mid-west is known for terrible blizzards. This one in the photos did not last too long and today the sun melted most of it.
I am bundled up and have all sorts of new silk to wear. The silk glove liners are very nice and warm.
Thank you for your well wishes. I am working on getting a bit more energy. I have been very tired lately.
