I was excited to get up this morning.
Our forecast is for rain changing to snow.
A weather event brings lots of birds to the feeders.

All day it drizzled.
Almost too dark for photos.
I decided to put some seed on the table near my chair.
The seed would stay dry and
maybe a Cardinal would come near.
The female Cardinal did come up close.
I could use some snow.
I need more light!

Oh my! You can see the bits of rain on Mrs. Cardinal, in that last photo. Lovely...

Dear Lisa,
She was 12 inches from me!
I had changed the lens on the camera. It was just too dark to work with the telephoto.
On my deck I have four places I can sit and drink my beverage and enjoy the birds. The Cardinals like the little seed piles I set out.

Dear Cathy,
Each area has beautiful birds. I noticed Mon@rch has all sorts of Red Polls! They are so pretty. Sweet little finches. They are not in my area while the Purple Finches are.
I too enjoy seeing the birds from other parts of the country and the world! The Cardinals are in abundance this year in my backyard. I counted 40 yesterday!
That is lots and lots of Cardinals.
You are welcome! Glad you enjoy them.

Dear Mari-Nanci,
The drizzle did leave a few droplets on her! I think they are pretty. She ate her entire pile of seeds. I think she was comfortable with me so close.

Oh boy don't we all need more light!
I am NOT doing well with hibernating in a dull grey world...(((SUN)))I need ((((SUN)))) and I shall travel to Scottsdale soon to have it!!
It is always a treat to come by and see all your colorful visitors!

Beautiful photos of the cardinals.
We too have gray skies with occasional drizzle. Temperatures are supposed to remain above freezing, though.
Wonderful. Thankyou.
Dear Anna,
Scotsdale, Arizona is so warm and sunny right now! My mother-in-law is there visiting friends. I remember you went last year too. I think you stayed with your daughter? Do be very careful!! No hiking!
I am so glad you are able to go. You will heal in the sun and the warmth. I will miss you. Enjoy each minute. When you return spring will be just around the corner.

Dear Marvin,
I hope you are far enough south to miss the frigid temperatures. I was glad the drizzle did not become freezing rain.
I do post lots of pictures of the Cardinals. There are so many of them in the yard and they always look so pretty. Glad you like them.
I always think one of these days I will take the perfect photo. The female Cardinal is a great subject to work with. Sometimes she will sit still and let me move around a bit to get a better background.

Dear Meggie,
The low light was a challange yesterday. I shifted lens back and forth trying to get photos. The Cardinals seem to have their own inner light.
Glad you enjoy the pictures.
I sure have fun taking them and sharing.
Sherry
Low light? Doesn't matter here :o)
Dear Mary,
What a difference a day makes!
Yesterday the light was so poor I could barely get a good picture, today the light so grand I took over a thousand pics.
