The snow stopped as quickly as it started.
The wind kept blowing.
The sun came out.
It stayed cold.
An inch of powdery snow covers the ground.The wind kept blowing.

I was warm in the 14 degrees and wind.
One minute I am cleaning and the next I am outside
with the birds.

Sounds as if you've had quite and assortment of weather over the past 24 hours. I'm glad you and the birds were finally blessed with some sunshine.
Our temperature fell significantly Tuesday afternoon, but the skies stayed relatively clear.
Everyone is looking rather wind blown! Good thing no one is wearing a toupee!

It was as if Mother Nature turned the faucet on than off! Clouds blew in and blew out. We seldom get these high winds but when we do I am beaten down.
Calm would be nice for awhile.

I was checking on your weather. I was not sure how wide of a path the blizzard like conditions that swept through the plains was.
I need just a normal sort of February. January was a bit too exciting.

The birds have really struggled in the wind. When the sun came out they perched up. Too big a drop in temperature too for one day!

Snow keeps falling here. Not so cold - in the mid teens to mid twenties. Schools are closed and traffic's mostly in the ditch. A wild winter, unlike the last decade's. It seems like the storms are swooping through here and right across your birds. Take care, stay warm...
Ms Cardinal appears to be watching something in the last picture. Possibly spring is trying to climb out from under the snow???

The series here is a repeat of the same birds from the last post without the snow! I did add the male Cardinal to this series since he was so bright and puffed up! Cold and sunny he says to me.

It seems to me that this winter has been very cold and wet!
I do think we have received lots of North-west wind and storms this year. When the wind blows from the south, I am pretty sure we will get precipitation, from the North-west it is just cold!
Hope you are being careful when you have to get out. Neither one of us wants to fall.

She does look as if she is watching something. I hope Spring stays south of me! I am way to far from Spring for it to stick. After last years early Spring I would rather a late Spring! April would be just fine.
Snow coming in while I write, 100% chance they say. I have to decide if I am going to class or not...

Thank you. I work with what Mother Nature provides! These are some of the birds that "know" me and will come on in anytime for a photo shoot! Mockingbird and the Woodpeckers are also rather unafraid.
I have not been sitting outside for hours with them lately. I have been getting some inside chores done and going to yoga. So I take breaks and go outside for a few minutes. Must have my daily bird time!
