Dear sue, Jean-Pierre Rampal is one of my favorite musicians. This piece is called, Yamada:AKA Tombo (Red Dragonfly) from his 1980 release "Japanese Folk Melodies". I have this album on vinal and on cd. I love the way he plays the flute. I have been excited to share this piece. Glad you enjoyed it. Sherry
Dear Chris, Listening to the Japanese and Chinese influenced music in January is very wonderful. The simple beauty speaks to me. I was tickled to get the Cardinal shaking off the rain. Today it is sunny and almost warm. Glad you liked today's slide show. Have a relaxing weekend. Sherry
Dear Sandy, Each month my husband brings up the music that goes with the different cultures we study. Some months I study an instrument. I also like to have different foods. I may not be able to travel to Asia this year but I can enjoy a wee bit of these ancient cultures. So glad you enjoyed the slide show. It is wonderful to be able to share the backyard birds and also the music I love. Sherry
Dear Lisa, Jean-Pierre Rampal was a famous French flutist. I think these folk songs are famous too. I also thought the flute and the birds worked well together. I think this piece would work well with dragonflies and butterflies too. I am starting to miss the butterflies. Sherry
Dear Mari-Nanci, Merisi's journal is lovely. Thank you for sharing her site. I enjoyed looking at her photos and reading about her city. The poems she uses are very inspiring too. Glad you liked this post. I too love the flute. Sherry

Dear Gisela, I also care deeply for Mother Nature. Reading about your work is comforting! Knowing there are like minded people working to clean the water-ways fills me with hope. I have a little pond near by I have begun to care for. Picking up litter is one way I can help keep the world a little bit tidier! I also continue living the Organic life. Dear Sprite, I am so glad you enjoyed this slide show! Your words brought tears to my eyes! Thank you... I do not want the slide shows to become ho-hum... Thank you so much for your love and light. Blessings, Sherry

Very Nice. It seems like I have heard this piece before?? The flute works so well with the birds flitting around (in my mind).
