These were folded by my son and a friend.
An origami Penguin sits on the mantel.
The Japanese art of paper folding is fun and so pretty.

Hello Travii,
Welcome to my world! I live in the mid-west in the United States.
I would love to see your birds! Also your butterflies.
Watching the birds is very peaceful and I so love them.
I see from your journal you are a poet. I enjoyed reading your work and will pop over and read some more.
Do you ever post photos?
It will fun getting to know you.
Sherry
Dear Anna,
I think of you very morning when I go to feed the birds. I am extra careful on the slick garage floor and the deck. Your fall made me realize how I just take sure footing for granted.
My husband is very kind. He knows how much I miss the butterflies. His origami butterflies are so pretty. I love them and him dearly.
Your candle is almost over. Hope that means you are almost all healed up.
(I also named my last week after you for my Almanac. We had cold Canadian air come in, an Alberta Clipper, the weatherman called it. I called it an Anna Clipper!LOL)
Stay warm.
Hugs,
Sherry
Lovely origami. The butterflies are pretty.
Dear Meggie,
My husband is very thoughtful!
Seeing these darlings is almost as good as the real thing.
I am not very good at origami. I have tried before but my creatures do not come out. When ever I see
origami I think it is very pretty. Such a great way to use the special papers that come into our lives. I think they would be darling as gift tags.
Sherry
You got one clever husband!
www.thequietone.net
Dear Cathy,
He is a dear. Very talented too. Why I do beleive he can do about anything. Tonight we are baking muffins together. He wants to learn to bake! This weekend I am going to bring out the yeast and suggest we try bread baking. I think he will be delighted with kneading.
We have been married for 35 years and it just keeps getting better and better.
He is handsome too! I love looking at him across the supper table.
Sherry
Love the origami. It takes such patience to do these. I have tried but my mind wanders too much.
That sweet hubby of yours treating you to beautiful butterflies.
Dear Lisa,
Last night after reading my post my husband said, "I know you miss the butterflies."
Seeing his butterflies on my desk just makes me feel so warm and cared for.
He brought me a bouquet of Japanese Iris last night too. My birthday flowers are almost over.
Watching the Iris open this morning was beautiful. I did my meditation with them.
January can be a fantastic month.
Now for some warmth outside!
Sherry
Your husband is sweet. I'd fall over if my husband made me Origami creatures. He does, however, pick up little birdie items for me.
Happy Birthday, dear Sherry!
Dear Mary,
He is a sweetheart! Very kind. I am not depressed even tho I miss my butterfly friends. I know they will return in the right time.
Origami is part of our January. I like to add every year something interesting to our Asian study. So far I have not found our new thing! Maybe this weekend I will get out to the Asian market and see something that grabs me. The origami butterflies will stay out all year. I can see an origami Christmas tree in my future. I wonder if my husband can do dragonflies or Hummingbirds?
I miss them too!
Sherry
I love origami things and I love your posts and your rose................
Your husband sounds like a jewel!
Blessings my lovely one!
Your journal leaves me enchanted!
Dear Jeanne,
Each of my "blogs" is a journal. I like the idea of being able to click here or there for my "book".
Putting photos and videos up is nice too. The blog-journal is a perfect way to document and to share.
My husband is a wonderful man. I love him beyond the moon. I hope others will learn a bit of origami. It is a decorative way to use the charming pieces of wrapping paper and other paper pieces that come into our lives.
So happy to have met you.
So happy you enjoy the photo essays.
Hugs,
Sherry
Oh so pretty!
The rose will dry, simply by being left there? I never had such luck.
Mari-Nanci
Dear Mari-Nanci,
Sometimes a rose will just dry. All I do is watch.
I hope to keep the white rose and the white butterfly together all year. I will see how long the rose last. Sometimes they sort of fall apart after a few months.
