Sunday with the birds

I am studying the Red Bellied Woodpecker.

Learning his flight pattern
and which of the trees he prefers. I know his call.
While out in the backyard I could hear the drumming of a different Woodpecker. I scanned the trees but could not spot the drummer. I shall be watchful. The Red Headed woodpeckers could be close by.

I am having some problems viewing pics today but the woodpeckers are coming through beautifully. Your birds are certainly more colourful than our british ones.

Hi French Nest,
I am so pleased the Red Bellied has called my corner home. I am delighted to watch him. To get the photos I do need to keep a watchful eye.
Not raking up the acorns in the Fall has helped with food supply for the Red Bellied and the Blue Jays. My husband and I agreed that next year when we sweep the drive and walks of acorns we will save them. An acorn feeder may make them easier to find when there is snow on the ground.

Dear Chris,
Oh, I am somewhat frustrated with posting today. Seems two of the posts are not allowing the photos to show. No idea why.
Oh well! I will keep trying!
Some birds blend in so well I have trouble getting the camera to see them!
Some of the birds become very bright come Spring! Often it depends on the light too.
The birds do keep my spirits up during the cold winter. I am longing for spring.

Dear Sprite,
Thank you! I was wondering what was going on. I am having trouble posting photos now. It seems I can do one post a day. Maybe that will change back to where I can post as needed!
That Mercury!
Stay warm. It is cold.
