Dear Chris, I love yours too! I am offering cooling waters with a slice of lime today. For supper, zucchini with fresh sliced tomatoes. Too hot to cook! I think eating raw is delicious. I am trying to chill....the ac is on and I have my fans blowing. One for the head and one for the feet! I seem to run extra warm these days! Sherry
Dear Mary, I do keep a list of butterflies that come into the yard each month. So far in July I have seen 26 different species in my yard. I also write what they were nectaring on and the date. I also have a life list of all the different butterflies I have seen. I do my butterflies like I do my birds. As I increase my host plants I should see more. There are over 200 different species in my area. Next there are the moths... With my not sleeping very well I think I will go moth hunting in the middle of the night. At least I would be entertained. Sherry
Hi Becky!! I have missed you. So glad all is okay, I have been sending blessings.. I love the butterflies too. They are so beautiful. Not as social as the birds but a few are getting to know me. Snout is a very sweet butterfly. Sherry
Beautiful photo of the Black Tiger butterful, Sherry!
I feel so proud of myself when a visitor to the gardens I work at asks me a question re: the gardens, or identifying a flower or an insect because now I can actually respond with a correct answer, and that is only because of visiting your blog! It is so educational, inspiring and beautiful.
Dear Kate, Thank you. I hope the photos and the happy ways show how important it is to care for the birds and bugs abd blooms! I have begun a study of trees. On my daily walk I have decided to do a tree a day! I take my ohotos and do my research. I am writing about this on Walking In Beauty. A butterfly or a bird could pop up! I am honoured! Thank you. Dear Mary, I heard an expression once, "You can sleep when your dead". I guess so! The Luna Moth comes out after dark. She "scents" from midnight to three am. and the male finds her..... Well, I'm awake. Just laying in bed "resting". I could be mothing. I have a "star flash light" that is infered. I could see just fine with that. Now I need to figure out a moth light to attract them.. So many bugs, so much to learn. Sherry

I do love your butterflies! Feeling calm and chilling out :-)
Have you ever counted the species that visit you? Honestly, I think I've only seen about 3 or 4 different butterflies at my house.
The butterflies love you!

Moth hunting in the middle of the night! LOL! You are too much, lady. 26 species! I need more attractive plants here. I can't wait!
