I have seen these darlings before in the open areas.
I never had a photo until this morning.
An Orange Sulphur,
over twice as large,
measuring 2 1/2 inches wing tip to wing tip
landed on a blooming thistle, for just an instant.
The Orange Sulphur flitted and flew about. Never landing again.over twice as large,
measuring 2 1/2 inches wing tip to wing tip
landed on a blooming thistle, for just an instant.
She will be back. I have miniature Snapdragons in bloom.
I know she likes them!

I've seen these, Sherry. I can't get a photograph because they have attention deficit disorder. You are very good with them!
Great pix, Sherry. Love your comment, Mary - it made me laugh.
They probably enjoyed the results of the rain... it freshens up all the plants for them.
xo
I am working much too hard in the garden and not enough of just watching the flying visitors!I must change my approach.Of course the camera shall be in hand! hugs NG
Dear Mary,
Butterfly, ADD!!
They are too.
I seem to be able to get them to stay a wee bit. The Dainties are sooo small.
The Orange Sulphers do like lots of plants to nectar on so they need the en-mass beds. Right now I currently without those as the bunnies ate all the flowers. I will plant again and again and again.....
I think marigolds are bunny safe as are the zinnias.

Dear Mary C,
Thanks! Mary is so funny.
I laugh too. It is nice to be in such good natured company.

Dear Sheila,
We have had plenty of rain. I do think you are right. I think sometimes the butterflies are drinking water off the leaves.

Dear Naturegirl,
My knees only let me sit or knell for half an hour before I have to get up and walk about some.
I am slowly reclaiming the gardens from the "wilds". Camera is by my side now all the time. I have missed more "great shots" than I wish to think about!
