Northern Mockingbird

I heard Mockingbird singing.

He is back.
He is claiming his territory.
Welcome home.
I missed you.

Dear Nita,
Every day I light a candle for you and John.
Every day I send my blessings.
Mockingbird is my friend.

Hi Karen,
Thank you. Mockingbird sings so sweetly. One of my favorite backyard birds.

Dear Sprite,
I would say it is the angle of the photo that shows the center breast so well. Also I think Mockingbird has just finished his molt and has yet to get all of his warm feathers for winter.
You know how much I love this bird!

Dear Jayne,
Every summer the Mockingbirds leave for a couple of months. I always miss them.
When they return I know it is truely Autumn.

Sherry,

Our mockingbirds stay all year. It's been nice to see their progression through mating season and all the riots they cause :o)

Dear Mary,
Ours leave around July and return in late September. I never know where they go!
They are lovely singers.
