Jay sounded the alarm. The sparrows fled from the seed table. He looked at me and I at him. There was no hawk! He wanted the seed table to himself. Tricky Jay!
We have wondered where all the Jays had gone. This past summer we only had 1 visit our garden ~ and then a few weeks ago (after putting out peanuts for the squirrels) we had 3 who now visit daily.
Hi Deb, I depend on the Jays to let me know when Hawk is about! I seem to do my bird watching as much by ear as by sight. I know they are often about when the flocking birds are near by, the Sparrows and the Juncos and the Goldfinches. I am so happy you have Jays about to sound the alarm for you. They are pretty too. ~Q~
