Bug Report

My husband was getting a few areas ready for planting.
He accidently unearthed this Regal Frittary Butterfly pupa.
I found a safe place for him.
The Eastern Comma also known as the Hop Merchant
enjoys the spent orange halves the Orioles are finished with.
The Red Admiral also enjoys them.
Mr. Bumbles just likes to be where ever I am. He is a funny, friendly Bee.
We are planting.
It is a joyous day when I plant my marigold seeds.
One more lettuce garden is in and more potatoes.
We will finish this planting day with zucchini, zinnias and more marigolds.

Dear French Nest,
It was a glorious day!
We did lots of planting today. I was so pleased to get seed in the ground. We are to have rain all next week so we worked until past dark planting seed. I still have three seed boxes full to plant and all my winter sowed flowers but we have begun!
The butterflies are so pretty.
I do not have lots of flowers yet for them but they seem to be finding food!
Enjoy the season! Each day a new wonder to behold.

Hi Mary,
Mr. Bumbles is very sweet. I have never known such a bee.
Everyday, even when it is too wet or too chilly, he still comes and gives me his buzz!
I think he liked me giving him the dish garden before we had Bumble food.

Wow, what a very productive, busy day you had in your yard Sherry! Love all the photos... and am still hoping my oriole feeder (coming soon) will bring me as much luck. Churchill Downs is indeed a special place. My mom and dad are headed up to Louisville on Tuesday. They've been going there for years and years. I have to say, even though I've only been twice, it's magical.

I'm happy to see Mr Bumbles is still visiting. He does enjoy your company..!
I love all your photos here, and the previous post of the the foal. My sister was a horse trainer for years, and I miss seeing the babies as often as I used to.
There is something so precious about new life...
Hugs

Hi Jayne,
I too hope the Orioles find you and find Mary. You both have lovely Blue Birds. I am missing blue in my bird rainbow.
We had a busy, happy day!
Now the rains......lots of rain.

Dear Sheila,
It is rather different to have a Bumble Bee for a friend! I have known a couple of spiders in my life and a couple of butterflies but never a bee.
I thought a photo of a horse would be nice for the Kentucky Derby. Seeing the foal was very special.
Spring is about new life isn't it?
All sorts of birds and plants and four legged creatures.
