Peonies

The Peonies are starting to open.

I was concerned.
These buds were covered in ice a month ago.
A baby Carolina Wren came for a "Hello".
Mom and Dad were near by.
I am glad they were successful.

Hi Mari-Nanci,
Thank goodness the peonies made it. I have many bushes, some are Heirlooms from the 1920's. A few are just starting to open and all the bushes have many buds.
Looks as if some will be blooming for Memorial Day! It has been years since I had peonies to take to decorate the graves for Memorial Day.

I love the Carolina Wren, what a sweet little thing..!
The peonies are great. Mine are budding and will be blooming soon. They were a gift from a friend when we first moved here twenty years ago. They were taken from his garden. He is gone now, but I remember him when these showy flowers come into bloom.

Dear Sheila,
It is wonderful to have the love of your friend right in your garden. The flowers of the peonies are so large and they do put on a show!

Dear Mary,
I was so worried!
Now I need to remember to trust Mother Nature a bit more.
No worries, no worries, no worrries!
