I took my coffee to the porch.
I wanted to spend some time with
the May Pole.
It is a misty, rainy morning.
I wanted to spend some time with
the May Pole.
It is a misty, rainy morning.
The birds are wet and hungry.
They come in the wind and the rain.
Today I pack up the May decorations.
The sun will be out soon.
The humidity will rise.

It's probably not but.... It almost looks like a tiny rain drop, at the end of the hummingbird's tail.
I know. It's the end of his tail. But it was fun for a second, while it looked almost like a rain drop!

It's nice to see someone who enjoys and captures the usually neglected beauties in life.
You made me feel better today. =) Thanks!
Even in the rain the birds entertain you, and by way of your wonderful photos, entertain us too. Thanks Sherry..!
I love the squirrel!
I enjoyed watching the moon on our way home, Monday. We can usually see it from our bedroom window. Love the full moon!

Mother Nature I love your photos! That is the name I give you now!I cannot believe all these special visitors that come to your garden of Eden!!WOW lucky you! hugs NG
It's hard to believe that the month is nearly over, isn't it? Reading "East Wind Melts the Ice" by Dalby has really opened my eyes and made me pay attention to the changing seasons. Seeing the photo of the bird atop the Maypole is such a striking visual reminder of the changes I've seen in the weather this month. What a difference today (mid-eighties -unusual for this time of year int he Pacific NW) is from May Day!
Thanks for the reminder of how the seasons change! Thanks as well for the Dalby book suggestion. I'm still really enjoying this book and think I'm going to purchase it for a friend who will love it as much as I do.
You captured a misty day perfectly, Sherri. My birds are panting but get relief in the pond.
Dear Mari-Nanci,
It does look like a rain drop!
It could be too as it was raining when I took the photo.
I love "seeing" in a photo too.

Hi Esoteric Phoenix,
It is ALL beautiful isn't it?!
I love nature.
So happy you enjoy the essays.

Hi Sheila,
All day long I am on bird watch!
Now to get the laundry done!
Glad you too enjoy the birds and butterflies and critters that call.

Hi Pat,
The squirrel using his tail for an umbrella really made me laugh.
He is eating the hidden food I set out for the little birds. Oh well,
he was so funny I just let him eat away.
The Moon is a marvel. I too love to watch her. I am usually outside walking under her or on the deck.

Dear Naturegirl,
LOL!!
I think I am Mother Nature's daughter! As are you!
It is a busy place with bugs and birds and blooms and once in awhile a four legged will show up!
Lots of two legged too.
Sherry
Hi Mary,
"East Wind Melts The Ice" is so well written. I find I am thinking about how my almanac unfolds.
I am outside as much as possible so I am aware of the seasons and the ways of the earth and the sky.
I just never knew how to relate my experiences. Dalby has given me a way.
I thought the May Pole would be a good way to do beginnings and endings. Mockingbird was so kind to do a May Pole shot. I had wanted one all month!
Glad you too are enjoying "East Wind Melts The Ice".
I am reading very slowly and ingesting every word.
Sherry
Hi Mary,
I can imagine how badly you need rain!
One of my friends lives in western Kansas and they were in a 7 year drought. It just ended this past spring. They had water retrictions.
Rain,rain,rain for you!
Sherry
