I heard the familiar sound of the Cedar Waxwing.
I looked all around. Almost hidden in the evergreen spreader I saw this female.
I hope so.

Dear Jayne,
When the Waxwings came on St. Patrick's Day I was awed! Now I do think they are in my area all year long.
Thank goodness I have something they can eat. They are not feeder birds but eat the berries on the Cedars and the Junipers and insects. I think all the spraying for "weeds" also hurts the bug populations. Lots of the birds are bug eaters.

Cute little sound.
The males have red tips on their wings. Usually they travel in flocks. For two days now I have seen this lone Waxwing. They sprayed for "weeds" across the street and I think the birds came over here to get away from the poison. Some of the flock could be in other neighbor's spreaders. I do not think I have enough food for more than a couple of birds. Maybe I could plant more spreaders.
