Sun and Clouds

The Callas are blooming.

The birds planted sunflowers.

60% chance of thunder showers;

it is humid, it is sticky.
It feels like summer.

We are still dry as a bone. The sun it very hot here. Since March, we have had 1.2 inches of rain.

Have I asked you what camera you use? If you told me, I didn't write it down.

Hi Mary,
You are in a terrible drought!
I have been chanting "Rain..rain..rain.." for you. Guess the powers that be are not listening to me! Time for rain dance!
I use a Nikon D50 camera. I have 3 lens, so I can go from 18x to 500x.
I would love a macro and a wide angle and a 750x! On my wish list.
I will be getting a filter for the 200-500 telephoto lens soon. I need the filter for bright light; when I do birds flying in the sky and the sun is shining!
I really got into photography last year when I bought the camera.
Being able to photograph my birds and flowers and bugs has been so wonderful for me. Lots to learn but I do a lens at a time.
Thank you for your support. Sharing the photos is a delight.

Don't you just love it when the birds do the planting? :c) We also are in dire need of some rain. Think I'll learn some dances...

Hello Q - I am just catching up on posts ... so many beautiful photos! I love the Calla lilies. The first home we purchased had a 1/4 acre lot and our little veg patch had calla lily growing all along the outer edge. Seeing your photo brought back wonderful memories :-}

18x to 500x??? Wow. I'll bet a light filter would help a lot, especially with those raptors in flight.

Hi Jayne,
I am chanting for you too.
I know the feeling of needing rain.
As I watch the earth dry up I always feel as if I am drying up too.
I love the help in planting, I do say over and over and over, "Location-location-location!"
The birds pay no attention to me!
Rain for you and for Mary.

Hi Deb,
I planted the callas for a friend of mine. She used to come on Wednesdays for coffee and kitchen table time. When the callas were in bloom I would cut some for the kitchen table so she could enjoy them. They remind me of her.
It is so nice the way flowers can bring back memories of people and places.

Hi MAry,
I waited to buy a digital until the Nikon D50 came out and dropped in price a bit. I wanted the optics! I like being able to learn the different lens and to be able to do both aim and shoot and to be able to compose a shot. With birds and butterflies sometimes I just have to hope and snap. Flowers are somewhat steady so I can work with the camera a bit more.
I am really enjoying photography.
