A still night and just that sound in the air...

Dear Sprite,
Listening to the cicadas and watching the fireflies is "Summertime".
Soon we will have the fireworks and July will be upon us!
The crickets will sing too and maybe I will get to see the bat.
I love the long summer evenings.
Jupiter is bright in the eastern sky. Full Strawberry Moon on the 3oth.....
Each day is a wonder.
Love,
Sherry

Hi Jayne,
They are so interesting.
"Bug Days" I love them.
Cool wings and great food for the Blue Grosbeaks! Now I need the Grosbeaks to come back!

Hi Sheila,
Their song does say, "Summer" to me too.
The Mockingbirds are singing again in the evenings too.
I love watching the twilight turn to dusk and into night.
I have my eye out for a Luna Moth.
I would love to see one this year.

Sherry, I can't keep up with you, dear friend.

I remember thinking, just the other day, I hear cicadas... The true sign of summer. Your photos are amazing. I hope to see one and snap away!

Dear Mary,
You do just fine!
I can only post four photos at a time so often I end up with a few posts each day, as you know!
You will see lots of cicadas soon as they will begin crawling around during the day! I watched as the Grackles snapped them up today. Better Cicadas than butterflies!
Crickets are next!

Dear Deb,
I do too!
The birds, the bugs and the frogs have an evening chorus that is the sound of summer!
