Summer Solstice

I went to my Oak Tree.

I sat in my circle of ivy.

I thought of the Oak lore of long ago.

I opened my inner door.

I remembered.

Happy Summer Solstice.

Happy Summer Q!
Your magestic Oak photograph is simply stunning ... I LOVE the trees & there is something so extraordinarily beautiful in lying under a tree, looking up at all that grandeur.

Dear Deb,
Happy Summer Solstice!
Thank you. Spending time with the tress this morning was so nice. You are right, there is something extraordinary about lying under a tree. Perhaps it is because we seldom do so.
I need more under the tree time!

I hope you have a wonderful summer filled with beautiful birds and butterflies!
Your oak picture is beautiful. I would love to see all of your amazing photographs in a book one day...it would be on the bestsellers list!

Dear Sprite,
You are so kind!
Thank you for your blessings on Solstice. It is my joy and my happiness to take pretty pictures and share them here. All the support encourages me to dig deeper and find even more beauty in my backyard.
Each day there is something new and astounding!
I too love the Oak!
I have an Thordale Ivy bed under it. On the house I grow English Ivy. I like ivy.
Happy summer to you!
May the fireflies delight you!
Butterfly kisses,
Sherry

Hi Jayne,
I was in the ivy bed and looking up and that is what I saw!
I love the Oak tree by the driveway. The acorns are great food for the Red Bellied Woodpeckers and the Blue Jays in the winter.
Happy summer,
Sherry

I think I need to spend more tree time. I too enjoy the energy of the trees.
Thank you,
Happy summer.

Dear Mary,
Thank you.
I try to think of different things to do each year. I had all sorts of posts ready but I liked this one the best. I did similiar things withthe Maple and the Ash. Maybe next year I will do the sacred grove!
I did remove the dead heathers and mulched the ones that have survived.
Solstice night was once called, "The night of the Heathers."
Hummingbird Chitter-chatters for you,
Sherry
