Hummer in the rain

I watched the female Hummingbird
catch raindrops.
She took a rain shower.
Cleaned her beak
and washed her wings.

No need for my pretty bird bath as long as we have rain.
One of these days we will be dry and needing rain.
Maybe she will try the bird bath then.
I can wait.

Mum and I love hummingbirds, and came across one this afternoon on a trip out to the country. These photos capture its beauty...thanks for sharing, Q!

Dear Kate,
I am head over heels in love with this female Hummingbird! she perches up near me off and on all day. I am getting zero work done. I think my new job is to sit with the Hummingbirds!
I shall pop over and see if you or your Mum posted photos!

Great pics of the hummingbird, now I can see why my mum visits your site so often!!

Oh, my, Sherry. You have a friend. I've never seen a wet hummingbird! Maybe if it rains, I will :o)

Hi Ian,
Our son-not-in-law did the movie a day for three months! He also worked a full time job. No sleep I think was the main trouble for him.
He loves movies so it was a way to remind him why he even went to film school to begin with.
I have a couple of documentaries I would love to film someday. I am still working on learning about sound!

Dear Mary,
This Hummer is my friend. she comes and goes and perches up all day. I do not know where her nest is but it must be close by. The male still comes too. Yesterday and today I had 6 Hummingbirds coming in! The regular pair had their wings full trying to run off the visitors.
It has been rather funny.
I think my neighbor feeds the Hummers and just did not refill the feeders so here the group came. I have three feeders up so there is plenty of food for everyone but my pair are rather protective of their feeders.
I am looking in my crystal ball....
ahhh... I see soft rain coming down upon you! (Hope that isn't a sprinkler!)

Dear Sue,
No, I did not end up doing the e-book. I have too many photos!
Guess I will have to do print book of the photos!
For now I just saved the posts onto discs.
Thanks!
I liked this series alot.
She is a fine little bird.
